' YES ITS FRUSTRATING THE WAY CARDIFF CITY'S '

Frustrating the way Cardiff City's results have gone for us so far this season .

Our only win was 2-1 vs Blackburn the bottom team - even then by 2 own goals.1 win in 7 this season is disappointing.

I really still feel optimistic though as Trollope/Lennie are trying build a new team and are doing their best considering the (understandable) constraints they are under and the players they have had to let go at short notice.

I will not be judging them both till at least 12 League games in, so lets stay positive and get behind them big time over the next three winnable games :bluebird: :bluebird:

Our next 3 games vs PNE , Leeds and Rotherham (3 bottom teams - 23rd, 22nd & 20th) are important & telling games about our prospects for the season.
7 or 9 points possible (I believe) . 6 points ok. 5 pts very average . 4 or 3 not good. 2 or 1 a disaster. "

Keep the faith" ! We are still on the roller-coaster and there is always sunshine after rain! :thumbright: :bluebird: :ayatollah: :bluescarf:

Trollope has to look to pick up 6 points in the next two games,to that end he needs to get his selections right, something he has failed to do up to now

It is perfectly reasonable to describe our start as disappointing, because frankly it is.

Like you I'm willing to give PT/LL time because changing the manager again and again is not working no matter what we pay them or whatever transfer budget they get.

However, it might come to that but firstly I would like to give them some slack on the strict understanding they work on our failings with the defence and attack.

I think you're right 12-15 games will give us a better idea. The defeats to QPR and Reading were against teams who were no better or worse than us, and it sounds like we gave a good account of ourselves on Saturday. I'm not looking forward to promotion yet, but I'm certainly not fearing relegation yet either.

Be happy the club seem to have settled for a playing philosophy. It will take time, it will even take a few transfer windows. 3-5-2 is a challenging formation, but an exiting one when it works. Most difficult about it, is the movement and responsibilities of the back 3. Who press?, who picks up runs? and who make the challenges?. It takes time to get it right. We have a very good backline in Manga, Morrison and Connolly, but they need to play together and find their rhythm. It didn't help Trollope that Fabs and Malone was sold. Harris, Noone or anyone else won't do the trick. All we got left is young Declan. Wingbacks are hard to come by, and a very challenging position. We need a midfield that can press hard and quick. We dont have that, but we do have the "regista" in Peter Whittingham. We need a striker who can move. quick and with stamina. We dont have that either in the aging Lambert. From my point of view, there has been a lot of wrong movement in the transfer window yet again. I know for a fact Ole didn't have all authority in who they signed, i suspect uncle Fester didn't, and I'm not sure Trollope does either.. Thats the last piece i think. Leave it to the manager to work the budget, and give the transfer committee a rest.. I Have faith in Trollope. He comes across as a honest man, and talks football. Unlike uncle fester, the lying sack of shit. Onward and upwards :ayatollah:

I think we have to be patient mainly because Trollope is clearly trying to change the culture throughout the club to provide everyone with a template as to the type of play/players we need for the future.

As in any organisation culture change cannot happen overnight.

If we were just watching this year's team playing the same way as last year but with different personnel I would be one of those doubting Trollope. However, he is trying to be more ambitious and that will take time, arguably 2 or three transfer windows. Clearly results have to improve but as long as we begin to see progress this season I'm happy for him to be given time.

I've seen people on here saying "ditch 3-5-2 it doesn't work" !! Well it's a good thing Speedo and Coleman had the courage of their convictions and stuck with their principles rather than listen to that type of criticism after some pretty awful results early on in their tenures.

Trollope is actually being brave and putting his future/reputation on the line, he at least deserves a degree of patience from us but there has to be some improvement over the next few weeks otherwise the pressure will become intolerable.

Frustrating seems the word for the season so far i agree. We are showing good signs just not quite getting the results, hopefully the new system is gonna click soon..

Only thing I am not happy with on Trollope side is he said he weren't afraid to mix it up if it weren't working formation wise, I know coach's/managers have philosophies and formations they want to use but I am getting fed up with the same old thing with pure stubbornness almost like Slade to stick with what they know even when it ain't working.

We need to get something tomorrow, 3 points would be huge in this game for us as we need a little bit of confidence.

But like Swansea when under Martinez, it took time to bring the style he wanted to Swansea and it doesn't happen overnight, our supporters do lack patience on times and expect things to click in the first 5-10 games.

Keep positive. :ayatollah: :ayatollah: :ayatollah: :ayatollah: :ayatollah: :ayatollah: :ayatollah: :ayatollah: :ayatollah: :ayatollah: :ayatollah: :ayatollah: :ayatollah: :ayatollah: :ayatollah:

I wasn't at Norwich but didn't Trollope 'mix it up' and change the formation before we scored two?
He changed to four at the back so don't knock him for that!

I think we will all feel a lot more optimistic after our next three games. I can't see us losing tonight, I have a feeling things will start to fall into place against Leeds (I'm going for 4-1 win), and hopefully that will give us the confidence to sneak a win against Rotherham. Seven points from these games and things will look a lot better.

In a previous thread I've gone from 6 points from the three games.
Whatever happens I believe Trollope should be allowed the whole season.
