' Mawson set for Swansea Medical '

Barnsley central defender Alfie Mawson is set to undergo a medical at Swansea on Tuesday, according to Sky sources.

The 22-year-old is close to completing a transfer from Oakwell to the Liberty Stadium with personal terms almost agreed. The fee is understood to be worth up to £5m.

Mawson was withdrawn from Barnsley's squad to face Rotherham on Saturday with the move imminent, although the Tykes did not appear to miss him as they won the South Yorkshire Championship derby 4-0.
