' ENCOURAGING NEWS ON SEASON TICKET SALES '

CARDIFF CITY :bluebird: :bluebird:

I was chatting to someone today from the club who told me that City have sold over 11,000 season tickets.

In the week before the season started the ticket office had an upturn in sales after they slowed down a little.

The £49 ticket for U16's is very popular with nearly 3,000 being sold and also the £99 young adult ticket also proving to be quite successful.

That's encouraging news and also goes to show that approximately 30% of ticket sales for QPR and Blackburn are on top of season ticket sales.

Good news, at least now, no crowds can ever be announced lower than 11,000 :thumbright:

At £49 and £99 City were expecting at least 15,000 sales.

Many other clubs in our division and lower have sold above us with cheap deals, from Huddersfield,Bradford to Pompey.

Pompey have had far greater success than us recently so thats not surprising, but Bradford City surprise me. They are a fantastic club with super loyal fans. Remember driving there in the 90's and playing 5 a side with some Indian locals by the ground before the game! Considering the choices nearby, they have great support.

Pompey

Division four now for the 3rd season running and relegation after relegation.

So if we were Div 4 now and in midd table 3 years later, would we get 18,000 home crowds, honest answer?
v Exeter,Carlisle etc

Look at our crowds in the Championship, one of the best divisions in the world.

Bradfords is amazing to be fair :thumbright: :thumbright:

If he's under 16 it should be £49. My lads was.
Excellent value.

By the way, judging by the attendance given last night with very little walk up and hardly any away fans id say a figure nearer 12k was right for season ticket sales.

The problem with really cheap season tickets is if your teams crap during the season ,you might go for a couple of games then not bother.big season ticket sales stadium still empty.

May be those end of season promotions (free tickets) did have a small pay off. If so the club should look at doing some more.

How can city expect that when they're selling our best players and bringing in mediocre garbage to replace them? Laughable really

Best players ?
Fabio wasn't played as first choice all season
Moore was allways marshals back up
Adeymi wasn't even regularly on the bench
As for those new players brought in I don't think immers Freddi or emyr are mediocre give then a chance
To date we have played 3 league games won 1 drawn 1 lost 1 and could quite easily have won them all in fact we defo should have won at Birmingham

It's always encouraging to see ST sales rise however it must be a concern to the club that so many ST holders are not going to games particularly so early in the season.

Even though the crowd for the Blackburn game was given as 14 K the crowd was probably nearer 10/11K. That being the case with walk ups there must have been many ST holders who did not attend.

Clearly if the trend continues the club may have increased numbers slightly however further down the line they are likely to lose more ST holders. The only way to maintain/increase crowds is to play attractive football/ give fans something to want to see e.g. New signings and to produce results week in week out. Time will tell.

Problem annis with £49 & £99 that's only for minority fan base, what was needed was a big reduction in adult ST prices Ave £400 is a lot for fans nowadays! Other clubs mentioned adult prices are greatly reduced and it is showing in their bumper sales. :old:

I wonder how many of that 11,000 are paying full price as opposed to concessions?

I would guess about half only.

Makes you realise how little income is generated for the club by season ticket sales.
