' BRUNO MANGA Hmmmmmm? '
Cardiff City's Bruno Manga's lapse is costly once again against QPR this time.
Much talk over the summer has been about Bruno Manga being the subject of a big money bid from the Premier League and was the same during the whole of last season.
For me personally I see a lot of quality in him, but virtually every match Manga makes minor to costly mistakes, even against Brum last week he nearly scored an own goal. Last season many times Manga gave the ball away or was beaten, maybe this is why no top club have even offered money for him?
Manga cost City about £3.5mill,plus was wages up to £30,000 a week and with Cardiff wanting around £4mill-£5mill for him,why would they take that chance? when at Championship level,he makes to many mistakes.
Unfortunately Bruno Manga proved against QPR why no such bid is likely to come, at least not one that would force Cardiff into selling. While he has plenty of talent and when he is on the top of his game he can look a class act, his concentration remains a major problem and the foul on Polter to make it easy for QPR in the end was a frustrating example.
City won't get their money back on Manga and in my opinion he's here to stay,no matter how much we tried to offload him.
Good enough for the Championship
Top-flight clubs are unlikely to pay top dollar for someone who has a habit of making such errors.

I would pick Morrison ahead of him every time.
Manga is Spencer Prior in disguise half the time.
Morrison is the sort of rugged no nonsense defender needed at this level not some fancy dan.

Manga' good moments have completely blinded supporters to his negatives, which are many. That said, still a good defender for this league and probably could get in the squad of a bottom 5 PL team.
Morrison and Connolly were are best pairing last season, for me.

heard he's going to sign a new contract with us ,he's signed a new one year house contract also

He does some great defensive work for us, and is definitely our best defender.
But yes he does make mistakes. I never really believed that any Premier League club would be interested. Maybe somewhere back in France or another country, but he's nowhere near Premier League standard.
Someone asked the question at the match yesterday. How many of our players would get into a Premier League team? David Marshall is the only one, in my opinion.

I think the majority of our players would get into other mid to lower end teams in the Championship. Other than Marshall, I doubt if we have many players who would get into a side seriously fighting for promotion. At the minute, we are not a good Championship side, average at best, and unless we can inject some pace into the team as well as getting a goal scorer, we are probably not even an average side.

Weve still not come close to replacing Mark Hudson. Shame about Ben Turners injury problems as he is a much better defender then those we got now

I rate him, if we want to play 3 at the back we need someone who uses the ball.
Although if a good offer comes in I'd sell, along with other players like marshall, noone etc

Well all of them depending on what team wants a player Rotherham Blackburn Are poorer than us that's two teams they can play in , I'm sure if set mind to it there's lots of others suitable .

Costly no could you see us getting back in the game even at 1-0 down because I couldn't the game was well and truly lost by then the way we were playing it just added to the awful display on show yesterday

Agree with OP.
Manga is a classy defender but is prone to the odd mistake. Saying that, all our defenders are. Most championship defenders are.
He's well suited to the back three system and I would much rather see a player play football and play from the back rather than just panic and hoof the ball upfield.

Manga has only recently recovered from injury and it could be argued he is not match fit hence the mistakes.
Also this flying half way around the world to play international football must take it's toll and again contribute towards his errors.
He is a class act and has saved our backsides many more times than he has cost us and as mentioned he is a perfect fit for the 3 at the back system.

Bruno Manga is by far our best defender quick, good on the ball which is what we need for this formation we are going to play this season.Dont think he is 100% fit at the moment
