Cardiff City will listen to offers for Kagisho Dikgacoi, says manager Paul Trollope.

Paul Trollope has confirmed that central midfielder Kagisho Dikgacoi is free to find another club.

The South African played 30 minutes of the pre-season friendly against Shrewsbury Town at Greenhous Meadows earlier in the summer but did not travel to Germany as he worked on his fitness.

The manager has now said that the club are open to offers for the 31-year-old.

He said: “He stayed back with the younger group to stay and train there, I thought that would be a move which would benefit all parties.

“He's in a similar situation to Adam Le Fondre and Kiko Macheda, if the right thing comes along in terms of a move away then it's something we'll consider.”

Dikgacoi has made 28 appearances in all competitions since signing for the club in June 2014.

He made 25 of those last season but in his last outing he struggled badly as Cardiff's play-off hopes were extinguished by a rampant Sheffield Wednesday.

Thought to be a significant earner, his departure would help the club reduce their wage bill and perhaps aid the search for new signings.

Stuart O'Keefe, Peter Whittingham and Joe Ralls have all impressed in pre-season and Aron Gunnarsson made his club comeback with 45 minutes against Bochum in Herne.

Never looked fit! Really strange situation as he played regularly for Palace under Pulis. We don't seem to do proper medical on players....I'm thinking about Ameobi and his serious asthma which meant he couldn't last a game.

Did look like he lost a few pounds from the start of the season but still lacked in mobility and performances dropped off hopefully free up some cash for fresh tallent

The guy was overweight & unfit at the start of OGS's first Championship pre season, whenever that was? Another very expensive example of the total miss management of our club, at that time!

It beats me how he's not fined.
As someone said above, he came here overweight and unfit, it took ages to get him fit / mobile and he then is unfit for first team football at the start of this season. No wonder PT wants rid.
Showed glimpses of being an OK player but nowt special IMHO

Totally unprofessional...still can't believe in this day and age he turned up overweight and unfit to pre season and it took about an extra 4 weeks to get him ready to play.

Yet another poor signing by OGS (how bad a manager was he?)
