City looking at Welsh replacements for Le Fondre and Macheda:

Welshman set to replace Adam Le Fondre and Federico Macheda for Cardiff City

Bluebirds looking at Welsh international as replacement.

By Sam Law

Cardiff City will turn to Fulham winger George Williams after telling Federico Macheda and Adam Le Fondre that they can leave the club.

Williams, who didn't feature in Wales' heroic stint at Euro 2016, is a player that Paul Trollope admires. At the age of just 20, Williams suffered a devastating injury that saw him miss the majority of last season.

But with Trollope looking to expand on his attacking options, the former MK Dons player has apparently caught the eye of Trollope, who spent a lot of time working with Williams over the summer.

After already securing the signature of Jazz Richards, Cardiff City are confident they can add another Welshman to their ranks.

David Cotterill is another player that City have been rumoured with, but it looks as if, with the new style Trollope is testing, he would not fit in.

It's not going to be easy to shift Le Fondre and Macheda on their wages that's for sure.

As far as Williams is concerned he's had a pretty non-descript career to date so we can only hope that Trollope has a decent eye for a player and can see something in the lad.

It's a gamble which could go either way.

As most transfers are to be fair.

You can still loan players in the transfer window.

Great if it happens - GW HAS REAL POTENTIAL. I was beginning to think this would not happenasthings had gone quiet. He was hampered by a serious injury. Personally I rate him better than Johnie Williams who has had a lot of opportunities but can't hold down a place. Also pleased that we don't appear to be going for Cotterill. Also GW is prob a cheaper option and younger which is a bonus!

James Wilson from Man U. on loan would be great. Did well at Brighton. Williams is not a replacement for two failed goalscorers, he's a promising winger or number ten.

rather Vydra on loan cost about £2m but would rip this division apart with right service
