Pescara 'make Macheda approach'
Pescara have reportedly approached Cardiff City over out-of-favour striker Federico Macheda.
The former Manchester United striker spent the second half of last season out on loan and doesn’t appear to be in Paul Trollope’s plans.
He featured in a side largely made up of academy players at Forest Green Rovers earlier in pre-season, but hasn’t been seen since.
Pescara: Simeone, Gyomber and MachedaBy Football Italia staffMonday 25th July 2016
Serie A new boys Pescara confirmed a deal with River Plate for Giovanni Simeone,
but are also close to Norbert Gyomber and Federico Macheda.
“There is an agreement for a loan with option to buy for €2.5m and I can confirm the move is ready to be completed,” Pescara President Daniele Sebastiani told reporters.
He was discussing the bid for Giovanni Simeone, the 21-year-old son of Atletico Madrid Coach Diego Simeone.
Simeone plays as a centre-forward for River Plate and just returned from a loan spell at Banfield.
At Under-20 level he scored 10 goals in just 12 caps for Argentina.
Meanwhile, Sebastiani also admitted Pescara are “in talks” with Roma for defender Gyomber, again on loan.
There’s more on the horizon for the Delfini, including an approach for Cardiff City striker Macheda.
The former Manchester United forward turns 25 next month and returned to Cardiff City after a loan spell at Nottingham Forest.
