Could Jonny Williams be a Cardiff City Signing?

Williams is ready to move on.

Jonny Williams: Crystal Palace

Williams has impressed this summer and has shown the ability required to play Championship football. Having had loan spells with Ipswich Town, Nottingham Forest and MK Dons,Jonny Williams is still only 22 and The Bluebirds could enquire about loaning or even signing him. With Palace boasting a wealth of talent in the centre of their midfield, Williams could opt to leave The Eagles with the right deal and moving to a fellow Welsh like Cardiff City would suit him and the Cardiff fans.

How would he fit in?

Cardiff City have missed an attacking central midfielder with a bit of flair since Peter Whittingham scored 20+ goals in 2009/10 season, and Williams offers that in heaps. He's not know for his goal scoring record, but he could rack up a good amount of assists if played in the right position. After showing a good eye for goal in the latter stages of the season, Lex Immers will almost certainly start the campaign playing off the main striker. Williams would probably have to play a little deeper or off the left, but he's more than capable.

I would welcome him here he's Welsh he gives 100 % and he runs with the ball and tracks back why not the fans would appreciate a Welsh player in a city team we are long over due Gunter played well out there I'd like him back be good to have Welsh players at Cardiff bring it on I say

Because fans just want to sign him as he's available and Welsh ! But mustn't forget he needs to want to drop down to champ, wants to sign for us, do we need him, can we afford him?? Just couple reasons why we won't be signing him.

Fair comment but unfortunately the guy has absolutely no end product....flatters to deceive on too many occasions

Would he improve with regular football??..maybe, but certainly not the finished article at present!!

Absolutely agree with you.

Every time I've seen Williams play against us he's been neat, tidy and distinctly average.

With our virtually zero budget this summer we have to be looking for players who are better than we already have. I've not seen anything from Jonny Williams which would suggest that over a full Championship season he could improve our team significantly.

Re: ' WALES PLAYER JONNY WILLIAM/CARDIFF CITY? '

He is just too small for the championship and we have just signed two big lumps up front, it doesn't look like clever one touch and move football is on the agenda.

Cotterill is a genuine winger who can cross, whereas Pilks is treading the same path as Whitts and moving central due to lack of pace. I can see Pilks out Cotterill in. Fabio staying lends itself to Wales 3421 as he will actually get to play his real position, althiugh Peltier may be one of the three CB's as he can't play wingback

Not much mention Bruno, maybe good news

Agree with this JW cannot get in the Palace team-why? Because he flatters to decieve and is too lightweight. Can be very tricky on his day but will sometimes disappear and often there is no end product.
Personally if I was going for a Welsh international at an affordable price it would be George Williams. Not Cotterill and not JW. I was suprised he did not get a chance against Portugal as a sub. When you look at it both Simon Church and JW did virtually nil. GW is a sImilar player to JW but more of a winger and harder to push off the ball. Also I would be very keen on Emyr Huws if available  :bluebird:

It won't happen as I was told the club have been looking at him and checked his medical records and he has a problem with his knee and the club won't sign any player that can't play 90 mins. Whoever he signs for will for a 60 or 65 mins just watch.

Let's hope the club have learnt their lesson from last season when they signed a chump on loan who couldn't play for more than 15 minutes without blowing out of his arse.
