SEVILLA APPOINT SAMPAOLI

Sevilla have appointed Jorge Sampaoli as their new manager after the Spanish side confirmed that the former Chile coach has agreed a two-year deal with the Europa League champions to replace Unai Emery.

"Sevilla are counting on the best coach of America in 2015, who begins his first adventure in Europe," Sevilla said in statement of the man who led his country to their first Copa America triumph last year.
The 56-year-old, out of a job since stepping down as Chile coach in January, lost out to Barcelona coach Luis Enrique for the 2015 FIFA World Coach of the Year award after making the three-man shortlist following his Copa America success.
Emery, who steered the team to the last three Europa League crowns, was under contract with Sevilla until June 2017 but negotiated a release from his contract.

Leeds United have completed the signing of Markus Antonsson from Kalmar FF on a three-year deal, according to the club’s official website.

The forward was hot on the radar for a number of Championship clubs, including Aston Villa, however the striker has opted to join Gary Monk’s squad for an undisclosed fee.

Antonsson has scored 22 goals in 40 league games for the top-flight Swedish club and will bolster the White’s attacking options.

It is thought that Antonsson was drawn to the Yorkshire club by their enormous reputation and ambitions to return to the top-flight after a lengthy absence.

The striker is the Championship club’s first signing of the summer and this will only be the beginning of a busy summer ahead for Leeds United, as they begin a new era under Gary Monk.

The 25 year old forward will make his first team debut when Leeds United take on QPR on the 7th August.
