Iceland captain and Cardiff City player Aron Gunnarsson leads celebrations after famous Euro 2016 win over England

Tuesday 28th Jun 2016

After falling behind to a Wayne Rooney penalty after just five minutes, Iceland rallied to equalise through Man of the Match Ragnar Sigurdsson after England failed to deal with a long throw from Aron Gunnarsson.

Then, in the 19th minute of the game, Iceland completed their astonishing comeback to take the lead through Kolbeinn Sigthorsson – albeit via a goalkeeping howler from England’s Joe Hart.

Roy Hodgson’s side failed to create any clear goalscoring chances for the remainder of the last 16 tie leaving their astonishing travelling supporters in hysterics.

With a huge percentage of their 300,000 population inside the Allianz Riviera, Iceland fans produced their spectacular chant with captain Aron Gunnarsson lead cheerleader. Goosebumps:

Can we sign Ragnar Sigurdsson? He was absolutely outstanding. That Gunnarsson is some player as well. Isn't he a sub for some Championship team?

When we see Gunnerson playing and captaining Iceland is there a reason that Slade did not pick him as captain and get the best out of him or was it Gunnerson attitude any ideas which one ? injuries not withstanding

Always really liked Gunnar, so pleased for him!

Hopefully Trollope will give him more of a chance this year.

I am sorry Annis but don't act like he was showing that level of performance for us like he has been for Iceland because he hasn't and he has been huge under performer for us since the days he played under MM.
