Paul Trollope joins up with Wales camp

New Cardiff City boss Paul Trollope has joined up with the Wales training camp in Portugal ahead of next month’s Euro 2016 campaign.
Paul Trollope has now joined up with the Welsh team who are currently on a pre-Euro 2016 training camp in Portugal, after missing the start of the week-long trip because of a meeting with Cardiff City owner Vincent Tan in Malaysia.
Vincent Tan met up with his new Head Coach in Kuala Lumpur to discuss plans moving into the new season but Trollope has now returned to his duties as Wales coach in time for Euro 2016.
Wales now continue their preparations in the Algarve – they will complete an internal friendly at the end of the week before facing Sweden in Stockholm on June 5th, just six days before their Euro 2016 opener against Slovakia on June 11th.
Reports from Wales Online suggest the first meeting between Vincent Tan and Paul Trollope went well with the new Head Coach holding his own in the Malaysian capital.
Trollope says his commitments with Wales over the summer won’t hamper Cardiff’s pre-season with the level of modern technology available. Cardiff have already arranged three pre-season friendlies as well as an additional two games in a tournament in Osnabruck, Germany.
The new Cardiff City boss says he’s willing to continue his work with the Welsh set-up alongside his Bluebirds’ duties but Wales’ boss Chris Coleman insists it’s an impossible task to juggle the two roles and expects Trollope to put sole emphasis on his new job.
Trollope took the role as a member of Chris Coleman’s coaching staff back in July 2015 after making a positive impact at the Cardiff City Stadium. However, former Fulham boss Kit Symons is now expected to replace Trollope in-time for the World Cup 2018 qualifying campaign which begins in November.
