WALES STRIKER RULED OUT OF EURO 2016

Wales striker Tom Bradshaw has been ruled out of Euro 2016 with a calf injury he picked up during the pre-Euro 2016 training camp in Portugal this week.

Wales and Walsall striker Tom Bradshaw will miss out on Euro 2016 after picking up a calf injury during the Welsh training camp in Portugal this week. The Welsh team are currently on a week-long camp based in the Algarve as they ramp-up their Euro 2016 preparation.

Bradshaw didn’t train as part of the main group earlier on in the week due to his extended season with Walsall, the League One club reaching the play-off semi-finals, but he now heads home after picking up an injury which was fatal to his hopes of being selected for next month’s tournament.

The 23-year-old was always an outside bet to reach the final 23-man squad having played for Wales just once but his 20 goals in League One this season were set to give manager Chris Coleman something of a dilemma.

Bradshaw has now returned to the UK and will likely enjoy some time off despite being linked with a move away from the Midlands this summer.

There’s little doubt Bradshaw will play a significant part in the upcoming World Cup 2018 qualifying campaign which Wales begin against Moldova in September.

Elsewhere, Wales are still hoping midfielder Joe Ledley will return from a fractured leg in-time to be selected for the 23-man squad which travels to France next month.
