' GOOD NEWS FOR ONE OF CARDIFF'S MAIN STARS/ BUT '

Fabio Da Silva, not one of Russell Slades first choices, as Slade prefered Scott Malone over the never say die ex Manchester United and Brazilian Star, so Fabio was in and out of the first team last season, yet still remained some of the fans favourite players.

New Cardiff City manager Paul Trollope is a big admirer of the Brazilian player and wants to keep Fabio for next season, but the only stumbling block is owner Vincent Tan wants the club wages even further reduced,so it will be interesting to see what happens, as Fabio is one of the highest paid players at Cardiff City.

Fabio only has one year left of his contract,he is very settled in Cardiff and is keen to play under Trollope.

Trollope has been told he can sign three quality players for next season, but at the same time has to get rid of at least 8 players and could even get rid of up to 12 City players.

Easy solution is sell Malone amongst the 8 or twelve and offer Fabio a new contract. One of the few players that fights for the shirt. Him and Declan would be better for left back and Fabio can play on both sides

Who'd buy Malone? :o

Are Dortmund still interested?

Perhaps he can go back to Millwall if they get promoted.

Let Slade go to Blackburn and he can take Malone with him. :)

Marlone started well but last few games of the season he was awful

I wonder whether Trollope is thinking of playing him in his natural position on the wing?

Personally, I don't think any of the three are good at what a defender should be good at...defending!
However, looking at the 3, FDS definitely offers the most IMOH, possibly as part of a back 5 (wing back).
Only my opinion though fellas

Sell Malone and John as back up easy option

For me Fabio should start every game. True fighter and always gets the crowd on its feet. Played in the right system with cover he could cause murder down the flank.

Fabio's defending worries me too much.

I haven't worked out yet who I would go with. Fabio is definitely more passionate, but maybe the answer is to look at Declan John or even someone outside the club.

Agree with this.
Passion / crowd on feet is great but the truth is that he was caught out of position / beaten far too easily by opposition flank players far too often
As a wing back, where a left sided central defender would cover him, he'd be excellent as his energy up and down the flanks would be invaluable.
All opinions though fellas.

Agree. I would definitely give him a new contract, but only use him as a wing back in a five man defense. Malone has to be the odd man out I'm afraid, with John or another more defensive left back coming in

The only full back worst than Malone is Fabio.

Fabio will stay put as the next contract he signs will be on reduced terms wherever that may be, I can't see him being frozen out of first team duties if Trollope likes him, the club shouldn't do a Javi Guerra next season, they should respect the contract they offered him. I would like him to sign a new contract with us :ayatollah:
