Christian Gourcuff contacts Bruno Ecuele Manga and Cardiff City

According to L’Équipe(French paper)

16th May 2016

New Rennes manager Christian Gourcuff has already directly contacted Cardiff City and former Lorient defender Bruno Ecuele Manga about a possible summer move.

Ecuele Manga’s agent Yvan Le Mee recently revealed to Sport Witness that a number of Premier League sides including West Ham United,Crystal Palace, and Swansea are also interested in the player’s services.

Manga has one year left of his contract and this season he had an up and down season,it is believed he would like to move on and his agent has contacted numerous clubs alerting them.

Crystal Palace are believed to be ready to offer £1million,where as Rennes are ready to offer more,Cardiff City want £3million for the central defender.

The reports suggest contact has been made, but no negotiations have formally begun with Cardiff for Manga’s services. The Bluebirds are still looking to appoint a new Head Coach themselves this summer and it seems unlikely any departures will be sanctioned until the new man is in place.

Reports in France suggest Gourcuff has already spoken with Manga and his representatives about the possibility of tempting him back to France and they are prepared to make a fair offer

Would like him to stay, but that doesn't look likely :(

£3m could get us a decent centre half, probably on half the wages of Bruno. He really deserves to be playing at a higher level.

If we can break even or make a few quid he needs to be on his way, the same applies to Morrison.

Cardiff look as though we'll be losing Bruno Manga this summer?

Vital Cardiff

Monday 16th May 2016

Premier League interest is reportedly being shown by Swansea, Crystal Palace, West Ham and Bournemouth but a return to France with Rennes could be on the cards.

Manga is about to move into the final year of his deal and having made it clear he's keen to play at the highest level again Cardiff probably have to sale or we'll risk him leaving the Cardiff City Stadium on a free when his deal expires.

His agent Yvan Lee Mee has been quoted as telling le10sport.com the interest in the Gabon international is growing.

'All I can tell you is that Premier League clubs are interested. With what he showed at Cardiff for two years, it is logical that Bruno is attracting the interest of the world.'

The former Player of the Year had already said back at the turn of the year he wanted to play in the Premier League, if this didn't happen with Cardiff at the end of this season he would 'unfortunately' have to look into doing this elsewhere.

The media today reporting a return to France is most likely with Rennes preparing to open talks with him, all of this (is he does leave) looks likely to leave the next Cardiff

Not being negative but we are more likely to get a maximum of £1m spent on a replacement imho and, as you say, at least half the wages.

With all those clubs interested, the price will rise to his true value. Good luck to him in the EPL or European equivalent.

Hope the bulk of the cash is given to the new manager to invest in new blood.

i think it would be fair to recoup the money we spent on him (£3.5m).

it depends if you can get premier league clubs interested, though. they are the suckers who pay top dollar, french clubs will not pay a premium.

i have my doubts as to whether he has the required physicality to step up to PL level. all i hope is that we don't get strung along all summer with pathetic offers like west brom did with marshall last year.
