Confirmed: Cardiff City sign Lex Immers from Feyenoord on permanent deal
Lex Immers signs a 2 year contract
He will officially become a Bluebird on a permanent basis as of 1 July 2016 when the transfer window opens
12 MAY 2016 (by PHIL SMITH)A Dutch newspaper has said that as many as six of the top ten Championship clubs were interested in landing his signature
Lex Immers has turned down as many as six Championship clubs to complete a permanent deal with Cardiff City, according to De Telegraaf.
The Dutch newspaper say that the popular attacking midfielder has signed a two year contract, with an option for a third year
The fee for the deal has not yet been reported.
Key to Immers' decision is said to have been that his family are settled and happy in South Wales, with Immers also keen to repay the faith Cardiff showed in him during January.
Immers scored 5 goals in 15 Championship appearances this season.

Wow, had a bad feeling we would lose out. Get Watt in to play just in front and things are looking encouraging .......................... with the right manager of course !!!

Excellent. In my opinion the best signing we made last season.

Buzzing with this great commitment from immers aswell

Unless Trollope is given the job and decided this then surely we should have put a manager in place first.
Thu May 12, 2016 9:45 am
yeah, what if the new manager didnt want him

Apparently watt has a long term injury and when he signed for charlton he didn't even do a medical and it was Slades decision not to sign him permanent as he found out the extent of his injury. We could of wrapped the deal up before the embargo but decided not to

Cracking signing bluebirds

excellent news - there's no way he would be unwanted by whichever manager came in, he's great, works hard, a fan favourite, and clearly quite flexible as to the role he performs.

Well you never know, perhaps the new man has already been chosen and wanted this signing? Just a thought.

If that is the case then it's sensible to look elsewhere but is it really correct ? I thought the medical was done and contract agreed but the embargo was announced just hours before he was due to sign.
He went on to play plenty of games for Blackburn before then getting a serious injury that required a corrective operation.
We do need to be careful about signing another injury prone striker but if Watt's problem is resolved then he is the type of intelligent runner that would benefit most from having Immers with him.

Like I said just a thought, on the other hand though it hasn't been uncommon for our club to sign players that maybe the manager hasn't had a say in.

This is absolutely correct concerning his injury and medical at Cardiff. There was a decision made not to sign him.

Sad for the boy, if true (and I don't doubt it) and the club were right not to sign in those circumstances

Very happy with this. Well done all concerned, for getting this done early.

I agree that you perhaps shouldn't sign new players until the new manager is here but he needed signing quick
Watch them new shirts fly off the shelves with his name on the back
Well done City

BRILL - great signing and agree that Watt could be a steal in the close season and I feel they would be an awesome partnership next season - combine that with a big striker (maybe Saddi? maybe not?) and we got a great attacking front.
Agree that the next manager may not feel he has the right tools but as most say he has to work with what he got and any good manager would get the best out of these 2 (Immers/Watt) working together.
Welcome Lex - I really admire players who give their all for the shirt.
Blooobirds Forever !!!

Just the right time to pull this off after a successful top half finish.
Very impressive work going on in the background to land Immers so early. I wish all signings were this smooth
