Too soon.

It seems to be accepted that Bellamy will make a good manager one day, but is that day now? Still just 36, Bellamy has only been retired from playing for a few years and his experience of coaching and, in particular management, is pretty much still at an embryonic stage. Bellamy himself has always spoken about his desire to work his way up through the ranks of management, not to run before he can walk. Is the Cardiff City job just too big for a novice right now?

Bellamy speaks in September 2014 about being offered the Cardiff City job:

Wither Dutch Ray?

It would seem highly likely, were Bellamy to be appointed Cardiff boss, that in his staff, a major post would be handed to Raymond Verheijen, or Dutch Ray, or that bloke who has loads of arguments on Twitter, as he is also known. Verheijen was, of course, assistant Wales manager under Speed and had an almighty falling out with the FAW following Speed’s untimely death.

He pointed out that under Chris Coleman, Wales would never qualify for anything which, when it comes to predictions, is right up there with those who tipped Leicester for Premier League relegation this term. Bellamy can be controversial himself, but with Verheijen on board too? Vincent Tan might just end up missing Malky Mackay.
