Clear from the start and why Slade needs to go.

So we come to the crunch game of the season - a game we simply have to win. No second chances after today.

We need to score. We need to impose ourselves on the game early on. We need constructive attacking play. We need to put them under pressure and get their fans feeling nervous.

So what does Slade do? Well firstly, he's without one of our attacking, creative (ish) midfielders as Rolls is injured so who does he select in his place? Dikgacoi.

Now Dikgacoi has his qualities but was he really what was needed in a game we had to win? He doesn't even join the shooting practice in the warm-up!

Then the game kicks off and if you had arrived from outer space you would have thought that the team who desperately needed to win were playing in the stripes and the team who could sit back and soak up the pressure were in red.

No energy, no creativity, no pressure on the player with the ball, no attacking threat, nothing. Another sterile first half and the only conclusion you can come to was that Slade's tactics for the most important game of his time at the club can be summed up as follows:-

Try not to concede and try to sneak a goal from a set piece or a Wednesday mistake.

I could see no other plan from the manager.

He has taken us as far as he can. He's a lower league manager and not even a successful lower league manager. If we truly want to progress he has to go.

Unfortunately what Tan knows about football could be written on the back of a postage stamp with room left over.

So I expect Slade to be given a new contract as soon as the season ticket sales start drying up.

Which is what will happen.

And if Slade stays what will happen is that thousands of season ticket holders won't bother turning up next season just like they haven't this season.

Very well summed up.

If Tan has ambitions for the Premier League then Slade will be replaced but if he hasn't, then Slade will be here again next season. Cost cutting and predictable, slow boring football.......can't wait :sleepy2:

Tan thinks it's Malky Mackay's fault.
