All the focus on slade and yes he brought some in, but some have not lived up to expectations , we have however finished 7th not 17th. Progress.

But Slade hasn't won the champions league hence why some fans will never support him.

Player follow the managers guidance. If they don't then they should be dropped.
The fact that the same players get picked week in and week out would tend to suggest that Slade is happy that they are carrying out his instructions.
I have pointed out in a previous post that we have not "progressed". We average exactly the same points per game this season as we did last season - that's not progress it's stagnation.
The fact that we are 7th instead of 12th reflects the fact that 5 other teams are performing worse this season than they did last season, not that we are progressing.
