My View/Opinion

" CARDIFF CITY FANS TONIGHT CAN BE VERY PROUD OF CITY AS THEY GAVE EVERYTHING "

To draw tonight at Championship Leaders Burnley and even nearly snatch the winner, for me shows Slades team have come along way in the last year. :bluebird: :bluebird:

Just under 300 City fans sang for 90 minutes and out sung the Burnley home crowd :ayatollah: :ayatollah:

City tonight played good football against the leaders Burnley and should of been at least one nil up by half-time, as the game went on in the second half-half, City defended well against the Championship Leaders and even nearly won it.

Before tonight Cardiff had only lost 3 in their last 16 games.

Team : Marshall, Peltier, Manga, Morrison, Malone, Dikgacoi, O'Keefe, Ralls, Lawrence, Immers and Pilkington.

Subs : Moore, Fabio, Whittingham, Noone, Gunnarsson, Ameobi and Zohore.

City went in to this game full of confidence after beating Derby County on Saturday, but tonight they were facing Championship League Leaders Burnley at Turf Moor who were unbeaten in their last 17 games.

Cardiff were wearing blue tonight. So presumably third kit will now never be used :bluescarf:

Both captains tonight are in goal. Tom Heaton for Burnley, David Marshall for Cardiff.

Early pressure from Cardiff, Okeefe, Pilkington and Lawrence all have shots blocked or saved.

City continued to pile serious pressure on Burnley.

Cardiff deserved to be at least 1 nil up and had played some nice football.

Half-time Burnley 0 CCFC 0

Burnley came out stronger the second half and Cardiff looked strong in defence.

Pilkington went off injured and was replaced by Gunnarsson, big loss for City.

As the game went on it became end-to-end, but cut out chances became few and far between.

Finishing by City was starting to become sloppy, but our defence continued to be solid.

Gunnarsson, Zohore and Noone came on for City as subs. Pilkington, O'Keefe and Lawrence went off

Lex Immers in the 86th minute had a clear chance and kicked it over the bar

87th min, Zohore hit the cross bar.

WELL DONE RUSSELL SLADE & CARDIFF CITY,EXCELLENT POINT :thumbright: :thumbright: :ayatollah: :ayatollah: :bluebird: :bluebird:

We were full of character tonight we certainly have come along way since last year credit to Slade great point but tonight still highlighted that we are missing an out and out goal scorer we made good chances and Zohore made a good impact and should start from now on a big lump like him with some pace he has got could really help us but well done to Slade and the boys. :thumbright: :ayatollah:

Unfortunately due to other results it won't be shown as a good result

In reality before the game most of us would of taken a point it's a brilliant point

4 points behind now but If we can beat Fulham away Saturday I think someone will drop points and its game on again

Let's not rule hull out we are only 6 points from them  keep the faith the team are giving 100 percent t

Very good point. Derby still have to play Sheff Weds. I suspect we will need to beat Weds though. Tough ask but our season lives on when I thought it would have been over weeks ago. If nothing else hopefully we can take this momentum into next season and start as we finish as opposed to being in meltdown.

Excellent point City.

What Derby and Sheff Wednesday do is out of our control.

Keep showing resilience like tonight I think we will get in to the play offs.

Yes a great performance, unfortunately the other results around us didn't go our way.
Still a big ask but we have some hope.

An excellent point as on paper that was the toughest fixture left this season. It will be nip and tuck to the end of the season and I think it will go all the way to the last game. Hope Pilkingtons injury was not too bad.

Hard fought well earned point. Team giving 100% and the fans backing them the same. Would have taken a point 19:45 so cery pleased to have taken one and a clean sheet to go with it. :ayatollah: :bluebird:

Great result for us tonight take a point from the top team in the division, Its going to be really close as I didn't think Derby
would hammer Hull like that but Shef Wed are playing really well so its going to the edge fair play.

We just need to concentrate on our games win as many as possible and hope the others drop points but I have to say I didn't think we would be this close to the play off's I thought we would be mid table.

If we can get a really good striker in the summer and keep most of our decent players we can do it next season maybe challenge top 2

Annis, You know what my thoughts have been on Slade, however, I think he has shown over the last 10 games that he can manage effectively at this level, I think we have probably left ourselves too much to do, however the performances have changed my mind on him and I think he has probably earned himself another's years contract. I wouldn't be too disappointed to see him give it another go next season

I wasn't at the game tonight but seeing that lex immers had another man of the match speaks volumes of how well Russell and his scouting team have done, he was relatively unknown but is now proven in this league due to his work rate. Whatever the outcome of this season Russell slade deserves a huge amount of respect! :ayatollah: :sladein:

Other results didn’t go the Bluebirds’ way tonight but that’s the nature of the Championship and there’ll be times between now and the end of the season where Cardiff face “easier” teams and their rivals face difficult challenges. On the table this may not look great tonight but if Cardiff back it up then it could be a massive result for Russell Slade and his men.

Closer than any of us expected and there still could be some big shocks like Derby hammering Hull,Certainly exciting :ayatollah: :ayatollah: :bluebird: :bluebird:

Yes I certainly do and you've stood by your words for a long time :ayatollah: ,to be fair Slade has shocked and proved a lot of us wrong and its good to see he has. Lex Immers has turned out to be our bargain of the season, wish we could keep him.

We probably will have to beat Sheffield Wednesday but something tells me that they will have already booked their play-off spot by the time we play them.

If Derby can put 4 past Hull then Hull must also be in free fall based on Saturdays showing by Derby against us

We need to keep our nerve we are very much in the play off picture

I was there last night and IMO Morrison was the stand out performer for me
He was immense at the back
No messing just good honest defending
Some of his blocks were outstanding
The defence gave the rest of the team the licence to give it a go

Steve, I tracked every minute of the game and spoke to Vince Alm about 9 times and he gave it to Lex Immers as well, but he did say Morrisson was outstanding :bluebird:

But remember your always opposite to what I say

Annis immers is a big favourite of mine I hope he stays
I've made him my man of the match on a few recent occasions
But I thought Morrison just shaded it last night
I would also be happy to see Zahora have a start on Saturday if pilks is out
