He has the quality and certainly can change a game/ But Why?

But why cant Sammy Ameobi perform like this for 90 minutes?

Sammy Ameobi made an instant impact the second he came on at Reading and reminding us that Cardiff do have the numbers to potentially make a difference yet this season.

Ameobi had not been on the pitch a minute when he collected from Anthony Pilkington, ran at the Reading defence and saw his slightly deflected shot hit the post and into the welcoming stoop of Immers who put the ball away to make it 1-1.

This is not the first time that Ameobi has shown his class, many times over this season we have seen seconds/minutes of it,but why not more?

Unfortunately for Ameobi the game lasts for 90 minutes not 10!

if his problems are due to his medical condition then he needs to consider choosing another profession really as he's never going to be more than an impact player.

If his problems are due to his attitude, application and commitment then he needs a good kick up the arse or he'll end up being an extremely well paid substitute at some mid table Championship team!

He's totally frustrating has loads of quality but seems to blow hot and cold

If you look at the career stats of how many games he's started in his career, it's genuinely pathetic

IMO its how we play him. He is an offensive wide attacker who when brought on 1-0 down plays to his strengths, an all out attacker.

When he starts in Slades 442 he is a wide midfielder with defensive duties, the same duties as Ralls at the beginning of the start of the season or Whitts now. Does that play to his strengths ?

He is tall, so I guess Russ thought he may be a centre forward, because Slades blueprint is long ball down the middle and those few clever passing games appear to have disappeared.

It's probably his medical condition which is playing on his mind. Asthma can be a very frightening condition when uncontrolled and the worry for him is a possible attack on the pitch.

Slade talked about his medication needing change and for all we know the club may have found the right one hence the better performance yesterday.

I still can't work out if he's world class or a donkey

I remember him coming on at Brighton away and he picked up the ball on the halfway line and just went past 6 or 7 players and created an opportunity. Then on the other side of it, Charlton away he was having balls rolled to his feet and couldn't control it. Strange. Definitely better as an impact sub, it's just a role that suits some players, they've got nothing to lose when they're coming on for a team whose losing have they so they can express themselves more and in ameobi's case he can use his skill and quick feet.

Without doubt has something about him a great raw skill to ghost past people, but you need a lot more to play at this level. Just look at lex!!! A credit to the shirt be glad when he goes back to Newcastle, he's not for me and if he has a medical condition while that's unfortunate then as pointed out earlier he needs a different profession. :bluebird:

Can be a game Turner as proven again yesterday but just no consistency with him. Looks class for 10-15 minutes and like someone has put football boots on an ostrich and let him loose the other 75-80 minutes

On the whole he flatters to deceive BUT a good substitutes performance versus Reading and made our goal!

Don't kick a man when he's down. Another profession? He is an impact player that scares the opposition, and that is great for Cardiff! No doubt he saved our bacon many times. Give thanks that we have such an impact player!!

I just hope he's sent back after his loan spell and doesn't come back.
