CARDIFF CITY IN TALKS WITH TWO PREMIER LEAGUE STRIKERS
Cardiff City are in a race against time to bring in a Premier League striker on loan
By Steve Tucker
16th Nov 2015
The loan window slams shut in nine days time and the Bluebirds are in negotiations with two top-flight clubs to bring in a marksman. There are also two strikers currently at Championship clubs also on their radar.
The emphasis is on an experienced operator and a striker with a bit of pace, which has been identified as lacking in Russell Slade’s current frontline.
And we understand club bosses are keen to capture a striker they can sign up on a permanent deal after an initial loan period.
Boss Slade is keen to add a new striker after seeing his team misfire in front of goal. Their 2-0 victory over Reading last time out saw a Bluebirds player finally find the net after more than nine hours of football.
Cardiff recently sent frontman Alex Revell go out on loan to Wigan and the thought within the club is that a new face is needed able to slot straight into the first team or to at least immediately put pressure on those already in the side.
Main marksman Kenwyne Jones, the man who ended that goal drought against the Royals, is just back from injury himself and currently away again on international duty with Trinidad & Tobago. The Bluebirds are hoping this time Jones returns ahead of the trip to Derby on Saturday with a clean bill of health.
Joe Mason meanwhile has gone through a dip in form in front of goal. He has five goals for the season so far, but has not found the net in his last six outings.
And Sammy Ameobi, on season-long loan from Newcastle, has been unable to find himself a regular place in Slade’s starting XI.

New striker Idriss Saadi came on for a cameo against Reading, but now has an hamstring injury and will not be fit until January at the earliest. But there is better news when it comes to Federico Macheda. He has overcome his back problem which required surgery and is back in training and could be ready for first team action as early as next month.
But the full focus now is on bringing in another frontman to add to Slade options and the heat is on to make sure that deal happens sooner rather than later with the loan window closing on November 25.

Why? Slade tempted Ameobi to come here instead of Wolves and all our players currently think highly of Slade.

Wolves didn't want him because he had to be involved in every game when fully fit

All the media I know and 2 people in the club, seriously have not got a clue, Slade has been asking strange lately with everyone shocked at his latest decisions on players.
Is he getting nervous or worried with whats happened with all his signings?

Campbell or Grabban would be great. Gayle even better, but we wouldn't spend the money to get him.

Rantie is one of the ones we're keeping tabs on, Bourenmouth want him playing regulary.

Would never get Gale, prior to his injury he's been starting for Palace. Campbell would be a great singing again.

He was well off the pace when he first came to us. Still scored on his debut though.
If he is slightly better than when he first came it will be a brilliant signing.

Thierry Ambrose or James Wilson please

I agree Ian, See you at Derby on Saturday
You drinking with us?

If it's with a view to signing them in January then it won't be young players like Wilson or Ambrose. Rantie is a real possibility though, as Bournemouth are reportedly signing Bradley Wright-Phillips.
