Jurgen Klopp signs 3-year Liverpool deal making him highest paid PL boss [Telegraph]
Liverpool officially announced and unveiled Jurgen Klopp as their new manager tonight.
It was the news everyone was simply waiting to be confirmed; almost as soon as Brendan Rodgers was handed his P45 on Sunday evening, the German’s name began to circulate as the most likely successor.
And just four days later, that has come to pass, as Klopp appeared alongside Liverpool chief exec Ian Ayre this evening putting pen to paper on his contract.
And speaking of which, that contract is going to make him a very wealthy man.
Chris Bascombe of the Telegraph has the details of the 3-year contract, reporting that the deal is worth £7m a year, a salary that will make Klopp the highest paid manager in the Premier League.
Coming from Borussia Dortmund, who had to operate on a very tight financial budget, this is a huge step up in pay grade for Klopp.
