Bristol City manager Steve Cotterill is considering a loan move for Norwich City winger Elliott Bennett, according to HITC.

Bennett has been unable to force his way into Alex Neil’s plans this season and has had to settle for just two appearances in the Capital One Cup so far.

While the 26-year old winger started his career at Wolves, he made his name after he moved to League One side Brighton and helped them to promotion before being snapped up by the Premier League side.

His limited playing time at Carrow Road means that Robins manager Cotterill sees him as a realistic target to improve his side’s quality in the final third.

Should Bennett move to Ashton Gate, he will be looking to impress as his contract with the Canaries expires at the end of the season and he is expected to leave the club.

Bristol City currently sit bottom of the Championship after a difficult start to life back in the second tier with just seven points from 10 games.

The signing of Bennett would definitely add an element of dynamism and excitement to the Ashton Gate faithful, and he could help propel the beleaguered Robins up the Championship table.

Bristol City fans…What do you make of the news? Would Bennett be a good signing? Let us know what you think in the comments below!
