' NOW BUBBLE GAME '

Disorder in the Welsh capital two years ago between rival fans has led to extensive discussions between both clubs and police forces with the decision taken that Bristol fans will have to collect their match tickets at Cardiff West Services on the night of the match. Cardiff fans will have to collect tickets for the reverse fixture from a location near Bristol now too it has been decided by police.

Police-instructed procedures for Sky televised derby match.

Bristol City fans will be required to collect tickets from a service station en route to Cardiff City for this month’s televised Severnside derby.

The club’s first visit to Cardiff City Stadium since 2013 will take place on Monday, October 26th (7.45pm) in front of the Sky Sports cameras.

Disorder in Cardiff two years ago led to extensive discussions between both clubs and the local Police forces. Subsequently the Police have insisted that supporters will be required to collect their match ticket at Cardiff West Services (J33 of the M4) on the night of the match.

The club fully appreciates this will have an impact on the majority of City fans, whose only intention is to support their team in a law-abiding manner. It is the club’s hope that the fixture passes off without incident, meaning these unfortunate restrictions can be lifted once more in the future.

The same procedure will be in place for Cardiff City fans when their team visits Ashton Gate in March 2016.

Tickets will go on sale to season ticket holders first, before Forever Bristol member sales. Any supporters buying during general sale must have a purchase history with the club over the past two seasons.

Supporters will be issued with a match voucher, which can then be exchanged for a match ticket between 6.15pm and 6.45pm at Cardiff West Services ahead of the game, although Cardiff City ticket staff will be on site from 6pm.

Full details about when tickets will go on sale, including prices, will follow next week.

I seem to remember (the idiot on sloper Road apart) the bulk of trouble was in the city centre and there was no restriction on anyone travelling there?

A little harsh but once again the minority have spoiled it for the majority

The Wurzels are coming - All over Cardiff, fruit machines quake in their boots. I bet the Carrot-Crunchers are really looking forward to bouncing up and down menacingly in their Jacamo outfits while safely behind the Heddlu. The clowns are going back down where they belong.

Was really looking forward to bristol away this season. Won't be going now they have put a ticket exchange on!!!

What I don't understand is a minority of their fans play up and our fans are now punished for it!!

Cardiff City's Severnside derbies with Bristol City will be 'bubble' matches

8 OCT 2015

Disorder in the Welsh capital two years ago between rival fans has led to extensive discussions between both clubs and police forces

Cardiff City’s eagerly awaited Championship clash with Bristol City in the Welsh capital will be a ‘bubble’ trip for visiting supporters and Bluebirds fans will face the same restrictions when they visit Ashton Gate in March it has been announced.

The home tie, the first Severnside derby since 2013, will take place at the Cardiff City Stadium on Monday October 26 with kick-off at 7.45pm and will be shown live on Sky Sports.

A statement on the club’s official site said: “The club fully appreciates this will have an impact on the majority of City fans, whose only intention is to support their team in a law-abiding manner. It is the club’s hope that the fixture passes off without incident, meaning these unfortunate restrictions can be lifted once more in the future.

Cardiff City and Bristol City met at the Cardiff City Stadium in February 2013

“Supporters will be issued with a match voucher, which can then be exchanged for a match ticket between 6.15pm and 6.45pm at Cardiff West Services ahead of the game, although Cardiff City ticket staff will be on site from 6pm.

“The same procedure will be in place for Cardiff City fans when their team visits Ashton Gate in March.”

Two of Cardiff City’s other Championship fixtures in December have also been moved.

The Bluebirds’ match away to Birmingham City has been chosen to be televised live on Sky Sports. The clash at St Andrew’s, originally scheduled for Saturday, December 19, will now take place on Friday, December 18 with kick-off in the Midlands at 7:45pm.

Meanwhile the Bluebirds home clash with Nottingham Forest will now kick-off on Tuesday, December 29 at 7:45pm instead of 3pm on Monday, December 28.

The Forest clash in the Welsh capital, however, has not been chosen for live TV coverage

That's a shame we're getting punished for their clowns.

Went to Ashton Gate the season with no restrictions and there were no problems whatsoever.

The disorder and I have it on video was heavy handed policing bordering on brutality with dogs and truncheons :sladeout:

Oh yay. I live in Bath. As I don't drive, motorway service station pick ups are generally not good for me. Does this mean I'll have to travel back to Cardiff to get a coach to Bristol or something stupid like that? Ludicrous if you ask me.

Last I heard the away leg restrictions hadn't been decided as the only trouble was young kids from Bristol damaging the pub they were in - how pathetic .

Cardiff fans behaved well last time and our side are pushing for a similar arrangement to last time.

Due to those pricks, many of whom weren't even Football fans, but just scrotes from Bristol we may have a voucher exchange, which most likely will be at Avonmouth.

I don't believe it's settled yet.

The escort out makes it a quick journey home mind

What a load of absalute Fooking cack. Our game over there was no restrictions and zero instances of trouble. The return game there was no trouble between our fans none at all. But Bristol Shitty fans did get into fights with toilets and urinals, tables chairs and beer glasses which resulted in a pub being half demolished. And after the game they had a little argy Bargy with the coppers which did Not involve Cardiff Fans.
On the basis of the above restrictions of a full bubble has now been put on us. Where is our Club to come out and defend us, because it is a slur on us that is not warranted. Our fans have been shit on again and even blamed for something we have not done I'm Fooking fuming

Will us Cardiff fans have to go to a voucher exchange or are we to just turn up at the stadium?
