Arctic drilling is completely different to drills in other regions as there is no proven way to clean up an oil spill from Icy waters. It would be nigh on impossible for a clean up operation in the region. The arctic is home to one of the most vulnerable, diverse and important marine eco systems on the planet.

Every area with an oil spill requires a clean up, yes. Not to mention the thousands of people that live in the area who rely on those marine animals to survive. Is it worth the risk of the lives of thousands of people as well as one of the most diverse eco systems on the planet?

Right now this thread is the equivalent of a bunch of people posting a pic of a celebrity eating a Big Mac and saying they are a hypocrite because they are protesting against animal trophy hunting. Refusing to see the difference because the person in question is rich and famous and of course - an easy target.

The two are wildly different and she should be commended on standing up for what is quite obviously a very concerning scenario, especially with the report coming with it conculding there will be a 75% chance of at least one oil spill over 1000 barrels in size.
