Planet Swans didn't take part this time? They smashed it last time iirc

Well no, we thought of it, and it's true they had a massive entry two seasons ago but no-one ever commented after about october despite them doing very well in the forum table. Some of the 'smaller' forums or forums outside the premier often take more real interest in this; Watford, Newcastle, Peterborough, Blackpool, QPR etc etc are just great, comment virtually every week!!

There won’t be an update every week, but as we are at the start there are going to be wild variations, so might be fun to look in. Having said that, the Posh boys have certainly started the new campaign fiercely! Leeds, Leicester and Norwich have also kicked off very nicely, don’t think any of these have been at/near the top in previous seasons, and the best of the new boys are Extreme Football Forum …
But it’s a long, long way to go, don’t get complacent anybody!

I'm sure I remember an overoptimistic fulham fan predicting a Chelsea relegation a couple of years ago.

Premier Game Update – roughly two-thirds way through September 2015

It is all very interesting this season. Good to see underdogs, even good underdogs, do well so personally I’ll say it’s nice to see West Ham and Leicester outbattling some of the big boys. But it’s still very early days yet of course …

So how does the real Premier league table affect our Positions game? Quite a lot!
Big news is that the Posh Forum have just slightly been displaced at the top of the Forum League – it’s now the Arsenal Fan Forum (amazing since it’s their first season with us!) calling the shots jointly with the Leicester Foxes Talk site. The Tudor Talk forum of Hemel Hempstead are always invited because they are without doubt one of the best predicting forums over the last few seasons, and there is no reason why a non-league forum can’t equally well know their stuff. Also delightful to see the Brum Joys and Sorrows group well up there on their first involvement with us as well. Then come a number of the usual suspects, including my own Royals forum that I can’t ever remember in top dozen in previous seasons.
Sunderland and Newcastle forums were both in the gloom just a month ago, but the Black Cats are pulling away from the bottom. The Toons may well do so shortly too, these tables are still very violatile. Anyway it’s all just a bit of fun, please don’t let it spoil your week!

Based on this ‘table’ we make our Main Forums table. What’s happening in the fan world then?! The Foxes still flying and the Posh not far behind. Tudor Talk always seem to be competitors to be well respected, and LUFC Talk are accustomed to this game too. Participating for the first time, the Arsenal Fan Forum, Extreme Football Football and Joys and Sorrows are all making a notable start. The next group – Blackpool, Bournemouth, Fulham, Norwich and Cardiff City Forum - are all sitting in there nicely too. Anyone of those or those following on could easily make a spurt ahead.
Well done to all those just mentioned, but I’m sure things will change, they always do. The fact that if bonus points were allocated just a week later they would have gone to some other teams proves that! The two organizing forums – Reading & Sunderland – now once again down in lower half obscurity which is where they almost always are!!

BEGINNING OF NOVEMBER 2015

Another couple of weeks have passed, and we now have the bonus points available corresponding to the best forums at the end of October – yet just one week later there has been further change around the positions!


Right here first is the ‘real’ league table. Dangerous times for Villa and Chelsea fans, methinks, but Leicester, Saints and Hammers fans well content I’d say. Spurs also going very nicely too – which of these teams will keep up the pace with the traditional big group then?

Based on this ‘table’ we make our Main Forums table. Both Leicester and Peterborough forums finished almost neck and neck at the end of October, but due to the Foxes moving up the third spot in the league their fans supporting their team with a generous prediction means they have just edged forward in the Forum league … hope that makes sense. What struck me though was the advance of both the Cardiff and Doncaster forums, who are now big players in our game along with Watford and Leeds. As nearly always, my poor Royals Rendezvous is seen wanting, languishing at the bottom end.

However, if you’ve followed the game up to now then you’ll know that things can radically turn round … quite easily!

MIDDLE OF DECEMBER 2015

Hello again. What a table! Who would have guessed that Leicester would be sitting comfortably two points clear, or that Chelsea are more concerned about a relegation scrap than of European considerations. . Also must make a mention of Palace and the Hammers going very nicely too. Still misery for the North-east, not sure what’s happened there, I’m supposing it won’t last, but what do I know, I’m here just to report on the forum game.

The Leader Board - we are going to have to do something about those foxes. Top points and top bonuses. The rest of us aren't safe anymore! Interesting how Hemel Hempstead do well every season, not sure what they know that I don’t! Then it gets very tight, and team forums can easily go upwards or downwards as the season progresses. So don’t get worried if you’re in positions of a relegation scrap!

The Leader Board - Only Leicester fans had real confidence in the Foxes and exactly one year ago to be be honest almost nobody would have predicted this table at present, so are fully entitled to the great success they are showing this season in our competition. Will anyone beat them? It’s beginning to look like an odds-on favourite now but other things stranger things have happened for sure. Let’s see. Meanwhile, the Tudor Talk forum of non-league Hemel Hempstead are an amazing forum, they’ve been up there in the top placings virtually every year since we started this game – must be their neutrality which gives them a good sense of perspective! And it’s the first time in for the Arsenal forum so well down you guys for making a big splash. Many of the other top dozen are hardy competitors too, not the first time they are seen in the higher placings.
Funny that the two principal organizing forums – Sunderland and Reading – are pretty naff at this game, they never get even into the upper half. At least that’s proof we do no favours to anyone. For those others at the bottom; don’t worry at all, it’s only a game, and things can still turn around remarkably for some of you. And if not … well, there is next year!!

Leicester’s glory and Chelsea’s fall from grace is causing a number of fans right to be depressed – in general the season predictions haven’t been so good as in previous seasons. But that is all serving to perhaps open up the field of the forum table more than usual as well. How does this affect the Forum league table? Very little if I’m truthful. The Foxes have now accumulated so many bonus points that it would be a major surprise not to see them in the medal positions. But after the five five, take note of the following few forums with small bonus numbers, this means that their current form is high as they do not rely on previous bonuses earlier in the season – so I see Brighton, WBA, Blackpool, Bournemouth and Burnley forums as possible major threats still …
For those on 86 points or more it’s unlikely now that you’ll make a big push, but any could still finish credibly in the top half. Anyway, as I always say, it’s only a bit of harmless fun …. So enjoy the footie!

This is the present table as of 7th March. Only small variations to be honest. Spurs consolidate second spot - what a season for them - whilst some of the traditional big four or five are struggling a little to keep apace. Stoke and Chelsea looking more positive too. Sunderland just slightly up too, and well done the Cherries for a very decent showing in their first ever Premier league campaign, and well out of danger now I would guess. But the big talk has to be Leicester City, one of the finest seasons by a previously little fancied team in living memory - it’s a big hats off to them …

How does this affect the Forum league table? Obviously Leicester are top here too, their fans obviously had loads of faith in their side whilst most of the rest of us didn’t. Even so, they’re starting to look greedy now!
But Leeds LUFC Talk and Doncaster’s Viking Chat are having very good second halves of the season, with the Arsenal Forum forum quite notable for their first inclusion ever.
Actually this year the differences are probably smaller than in most previous seasons, and it’s still well possible for a forum three-quarters of the way down at present to still shoot up into the medal and diploma positions …

Hello again. And the results are coming up!!! After a delay caused by an incompetent security firm, we have now seen all the results for the 15/16 season.

Few except probably North London fans would begrudge the Foxes of their first title ever. A lot on that has already been said so I won’t try to be clever in inventing anything new on their amazing achievement. At the other end it was a big shame to see Newcastle go down into the second tier but I suppose it was odds-on that a North-east team would plummet and luck shone with Sunderland at the end. As a Royals fan myself I can look forward to games against the Toons with trepidation, and also withNorwich, these are nearly always good games with adrenaline flying from both teams.
Well done to the Cherries on maintaining Premier league status, no small feat when you haven’t had previous experience. I imagine their South coast neighbours Saints can be pretty pleased too, as can the Hammers and Stoke. Chelsea finally recovered to be a top-10 team, most of us didn’t see that happening at the half-way point. Watford did indeed have plenty of previous top tier experience but amply held themselves afloat first season back.

And so to the amazing LEADERBOARD! It had to be Leicester again, however they were being caught up and had to rely on their bonus points for carrying off the Fan Forum title. So it’s certainly also a big “well done” to all those following football sites getting ever closer at the end of the season …
Also big congratulations to the Arsenal, Bradford and Southampton forums taking part for the first time and who all did notably well. And the fact that the Sunderland and Reading forums – the two organizers – were never in the running shows just how fair and above board this all is!!

Well, I am, but I'm really sorry to say it's only going on 12 forums. People really wanted an individual player game that we had in earlier seasons and not just the forum average game that we had last season. If we'd have kept the 38 forums as an individual player game throughout, well this would become a full-time job. The Sunderland admin chap was frightened at that, and there is a limit for me too. So we only went for a bare 12 limit

But ... there is an 'independent' group section on Reading's "RR" with currently 5 in - West Ham/Darlington/Everton/WBA entries. Any fan is more than welcome to contribute here: http://royalsrendezvous.co.uk/topic/10551451/1 You don't even have to register, just post with a name and the team you support.
