Sammy Ameobi will sit down with Steve McLaren today

Newcastle United winger Sammy Ameobi is set for crunch talks with manager Steve McLaren today before deciding on his future.

The 23-year-old is expected to be offered a new deal at St James' Park before being told he can go on loan to a Championship club, with Cardiff City and Wolves keen on his signature.

Ameobi, whose contract runs out this summer, has already met Bluebirds boss Russell Slade and his Wolves counterpart Kenny Jackett but after today's meeting with the new Toon boss, he's expected to make up his mind.

He trained with the Newcastle squad yesterday and is understood to be keen to remain a Magpies player, which he has been since 2008.

Not sure if I want him tbf.
Will he be another Saha?
Or will he be out hungry to prove a point?
Wages for young premiers can ruin the fuckers!

Anyway

Chances are 5% Cardiff
80% wolves
15% on somewhere else or staying put.

Can't really understand us being after him, surely he's on a decent wage and no doubt Newcastle will want a good portion of it payed by the club he goes on loan to. I thought we were trying to bring the wage bill down. What's really worrying me is not that we're not signing anyone but no one seems interested in the high earners we have. In my opinion we shouldn't be after anyone till we've got rid of a few, a half decent manager would be able to produce a decent product with what we have at the moment.

You cant get good out of players who do not want to come here and only came here because of stupid wages Ole offered
and that is why we cant get rid of them either as no one else will pay them that kind of silly money we are in a mess and
in all fairness its ex managers fault.

I am not a Slade supporter but I am feeling sorry for him as the mess he is trying to sort out that other managers made
is really hard and keep us in the championship as well.

Cardiff is a ten times better place to live, and has a much better ground and training facilities, but it will all come dos to the feeling from the Managers meeting and confidence on playing well for the team he feels will best suit his talents, so he'll probably pick anyone but us.....
