Has there been a better time to look for a manager ?

Tue May 26, 2015 7:25 am

The amount of big name managers at the moment is crazy , I can't remember the last time so many big names were out of work at the same time .

If you are a championship team looking for promotion , take your pick !

Harry Redknapp
Sam Allardyce
Roberto di Matteo
Paul Lambert
Steve McClaren
Neil Warnock
Nigel Adkins
Lee Clark
Nigel Clough
Mark Warburton
Malky Mackay
Dave Jones
Billy Davies

Thomas, Plenty, plenty out there, but in my opinion, its not just the manager thats the problem its the owner of our club.

The big question is of the names on that list who would want to come to City and the bigger question is would Tan consider ditching Slade?

Shame Slade didn't go end season, but with all these good managers available city fans would never agree on best man for job?

We have to get into the mindset of Tan..

He wants a cheap manager - Slade on just over £120K a YEAR

Wants high earning players out replaced with cheaper lower league players - Slade has ticked box

A manager who wont give Tan daily hassle and will not challenge too much - Slade hits the mark again.

From a fans perspective we want the best manager - £1m plus a year

Best players - Spend of £10m plus including £25k plus salaries

Its only fans who have been shocked at Slades inept football style that want changes . :sladeout:

How many of them can operate on a limited budget whilst still looking to cut costs? May be Mark Warburton or Nigel Atkins but the bigger names forget it.

It could be described as Tan's mind set but also as waking up to the new mood in football post FFP. The owner has said he has learnt lessons from his time at Cardiff so surely one of those lessons has to be not to hand out inflated wages when there are cheaper options?

I can remember being told when I was younger that it is easy to "spend some elses money rather than your own" and that is how football fans view club owners, a source of income to buy the dreams.

Those days are gone and we have to make the most of what we have got.

"Has there been a better time to look for a manager?"

Yep, when you haven't got one.

You got there first - I was just about to say the same thing. You look for a manager when you need one, not while you have still got one.

The post wasn't about cardiff , it was more of the championship as a whole . I think slade deserves at least until Christmas to see what he can do with his team .

The point was you don't normally see so many big names out of work at the same time who would fit the championship .
