Cardiff are set to make a surprise move for Honduras hotshot Alberth Elis, who is being tipped to be a star at the under 20s World Cup.
City have contacted Elis' agent Daniel Solis and also spoken to his club Olimipia about a possible 1 million point deal.
The bluebirds would love an agreement this week before Elis, just 19 yrs old lights up the tournament in New Zealand.
But so are Everton supposed to be linked with him.
