" IT REALLY DOES MAKE YOU WONDER? "

Adam Le Fondre ?

Scores another 2 goals yesterday for Struggling Bolton, said he was also shocked by how Slade told him he could go out on loan.
Before he came to City, he scored the goals for Reading.

Macheda

Macheda, scored goals for Birmingham last season.
Not really given a chance by us,then finally given a chance and starts scoring.

Fabio

Fabio in my opinion one of our best players, not given a chance and when he is,always gives 100% and once again one of our best players yesterday. Even City fans continually sang his name :thumbright:

I could go on and on Ralls,Declan John etc etc

We have to surely hold on to these players for next season if we want go up?

Any players you feel should be starting? ?

OPINIONS ? :thumbright:

Le fondre had the chances with us but didn't take them. Will return a better player.
The Fans turned on macheda way too early.

fabio was sacrificed to solidify the back four and srop leaking goals. Now that has improved, we can build.

I still maintain that the biggest obstacle for us is our own support. We need to get behind the team and forgive some mistakes to move on.

Macheda been injured Annis most of slades time here ,but slade has used him when he's been fit ,le fondre had the games but couldn't hit a barn door for us ,Fabio is very good going forward but not as strong denfensivly ,ralls has been used as a sub a lot ,definitely need to keep all these players

Several shockers through the season.

We need a few home wins now otherwise cant see fans renewing.

Things changed once we brought in a no 2. Say no more

Re: " IT REALLY DOES MAKE YOU WONDER? "

Le Fondre lacked confidence all season, I honestly think that Slade needed to slim the squad down and he's got rid of some good players but were individuals.

Fabio decision really confuses me, puts 100% in every game and usually plays well but has been used as a scapegoat in some bad defeats. Since Trollape has come in the performances have got much better. Last week against Charlton City dominated the first 60 minutes. After some of the shit we have played this year there has been improvement.

Re: " IT REALLY DOES MAKE YOU WONDER? "

The hunger has gone in LeFondre....Not during the game, but the sacrifices we all need to make in life. His decision not to move himself and his family down here massively back fired.

If my boss offered me the chance to move to some northern hell hole for a million a year me and the family would be up there as quick as you like. But if it was only a £50k and i could get another job for the same money in South Wales I would stick here.

LeFondre is a rich man, he can't live up north and travel down anymore, it just isn't working for him. He wants out and I 100% believe Slades version of this story.

Machada can leave as soon as we can recoup some of the money we have spent on him....Signing on fee ect...

Fabio is mental, by far our best left back.......

When he first came to the club RS selected Le Fondre & Macheda as his front pair and we did manage to win 5 of his first 8 games, but then we lost Pilkington and with that we lost one of the best sources of delivery, from open play, in the team.

Le Fondre has a proven track record at this level and it's no shock that he is now scoring on a regular basis for Bolton, does that have anything to do with better delivery into him. Hmmm. Macheda had an excellent scoring record at Birmingham last season where he was lucky enough to be on the receiving end of delivery from Chris Burke.

Without Pilkington we were basically left with Craig Noone who is described on a player stats site I use as having the following weaknesses, very weak at passing, very weak at decision making and weak at holding onto the ball. We saw yesterday his weakness in decision making when he cut inside to shoot rather than go outside and cross for Revell and Macheda. I was not surprised that RS was looking to ship Craig Noone out in January and I absolutely believe that he will be moved on in the summer.

Give Le Fondre, Macheda, Jones, Doyle, Mason or Maynard the right supply and any of these players will score but without Pilkington we have come up massively short in this area with a heavy reliance on Whittingham set pieces. I would have liked to see Declan John given a chance as the wide left player but his recent loan move is probably the best thing for him at the moment, but next season why not at least try him. Surely it's also time Kadeem Harris to be given a run of games.

As regards Fabio he is our 3rd highest rank defensive player and should be a "Shoe In" into this team even if as we all know he isn't perfect. He strengths are listed as very strong in the tackle and strong at dribbling and strong at ball interception, his weaknesses are list as aerial duels, passing and decision making as he likes to dive into the challenge. But compared to Malone where is strength is listed as aerial duels but weaknesses included holding onto the ball, passing and tacking. Whatever he cost his signing over Fabio raises massive question marks, in my opinion, over RS ability to identify players to take the team forward at this level.

We still have quality in our squad and despite a very resolute performance yesterday the result only papers over the cracks of what continues to be a very disappointing season.

I'm an advocate that a team should build its play around the striker. Goals win matches and strikers are the ones that usually score them.

I completely agree with that and, in my opinion, I hope RS doesn't decide to build a team around Manga. Great player that he is and if he stays no doubt captain, but being captain is one thing scoring goals is what wins games.

Next season I hope we give Joe Mason the run of games he deserves.

That's very much true no point in bringing in star striker if don't play to his strengths? Think we have been guilty of this all season up until Trollope coming in! This seems to have altered way we play now so given time we will see more goals from all our strikers!

Every time macheda has been fit under slade he's played.

There is two sides to the left fondre story slade says his agent asked for a move weeks earlier.

Agreed on Fabio he needs to be playing he gives 100%

Rall is getting plenty of game time imo he's being weaned in

Declan needs more game time tho!

BOLTON WANDERERS
Hit man Adam Le Fondre eager to be Bolton Wanderers' golden boy

GOAL PROMISE: Adam Le Fondre says he will win Wanderers' golden boot this season

by Neil Bonnar

ADAM Le Fondre vowed to finish the season as Wanderers’ goal king – then opened the door to an extended stay at the Macron.

Fresh from scoring twice in Saturday’s 2-0 win over Millwall to take his tally to five goals in 10 games, the on-loan striker thanked Neil Lennon for turning round his season after a nightmare start at Cardiff City.

Le Fondre netted just three times in 24 appearances in South Wales after regularly being played out of his favoured central role.

Now very much the main man under Lennon, the 28-year-old has his eye on claiming the club’s Golden Boot prize before discussing the chances of a longer spell with the Whites.

“I’ve finished top scorer at every club I’ve been at, apart from Cardiff, obviously,” he told The Bolton News. “I’ll be taking that Golden Boot; that will be mine.

“After that a lot depends on Cardiff. I have had no contact from Cardiff so I don’t know what will happen in the summer. But I am enjoying my football.

“I think the gaffer would like to bring me here. If you score goals, the fans love you and I want to be loved.

“I am a striker and strikers are meant to be heroes. That’s what I want to be.”

Le Fondre moved to Cardiff last summer in a deal reported to be worth £3million but admits with hindsight he might have made the wrong move joining the Bluebirds from Reading.

“I do regret moving to Cardiff the way it worked out,” he said. “We had a vision of getting promoted back to the Premier League and we are languishing in mid table.

“I have moved on because I have not done well enough there.

“My confidence was shot at Cardiff. The style of football didn’t suit me. I have come here and the way we are set up is similar to Reading: fast wingers putting the ball in the box, making quick breaks. That’s the way I like to play and how I get chances.”

Le Fondre has two years remaining on his contract at Cardiff and the striker accepts he will not come cheap in the summer.

“Goalscorers normally do cost money,” he said. “They don’t normally get given away. That’s why Cardiff paid for me.

“I like to think I am re-building my reputation here and either I am going to cost someone some money or they are going to have to let me out on loan.”

Having played in the top flight with Reading, however, Le Fondre wants another crack at the big time in the prime of his career.

“I had success when I was there and didn’t look out of place,” he said. “I just want to keep scoring goals and see how far that takes me. Goals are the best currency for a forward and I just want to keep doing that.”

Agree with you on our fans. The players are too worried about making an error at home and look nervous. People boo a backwards pass and then boo a long ball.

Le Fondre is a tricky one. Maybe he has regained confidence now he's back living with his family. For us, he just kept missing chance after chance and his attempts at shooting before he left were pitiful. I really hope we don't offload him over the summer, but I have a feeling he wants to live up north.

Le Fondre isn't exactly being subtle about his intentions. He doesn't see his future with the club although under contract. He knows that someone will come in for him if he is scoring goals and money talks, end of chat.

It is so frustrating though to see players arrive with such promise, not deliver and then go off and start scoring again. We could all write a list I'm sure.

My view: Big pity he couldn't get success at Cardiff, but hope he does well for the rest of the season to push up his stock. :bluescarf:
