Does anyone know if the Sand Martin is showing the rugby after the city game on Saturday?
Cheers. :bluescarf: :bluescarf: :bluescarf:

Not the ideal place to watch it given the strict licensing arrangements there (beer served with meals only)

Gavin it's actually the sand martin that has decided on match days to only serve beer with food, they have a full on licence, NOT a restaurant one, they can serve beer anytime within the licencing hours, without food being served

They usually only enforce that in the build up to City games.

It's not The SandMartin that's the problem it's the council and police.. The licence stipulates that 3hrs before and 2hrs after every home Cardiff City game that no meal no drink and should only operate 1meal per drink that applies to both alcoholic and non alcoholic drink.. It also stipulates it has to be a full table meal and that there is no vertical drinking (standing up to u and I).. This place has one of the strictest licenses in cardiff and bearing in mind there has only ever been 3 spots of bother in there and 2 were Wales Fans during Wales game and the other was if I remember right a Palace fan during the championship playoffs a few Seasons back..

In regards to the rugby no it won't be showing it as it does not have any televisions

The sandmartin is down to you in a nutshell... If u can bide by the restrictions that it's a decent place with a decent atmosphere especially if Dai Hunt is there, if u dnt fancy the conditions then stick to Canton

As far as I'm aware there has only ever been 1 arrest at the sandmartin and that was because a woman smashed her husband over the head outside with an ashtray on a non football day obviously..

Obviously FYI the patio is also closed on match days because not allowed anything outside on a matchday not even a plastic and as for the car park when the company (Marstons) agreed to buy the land to build the pub they also agreed that the stadium have full control of the car park whenever there is an EVENT on at the stadium.. The club used to issue the staff and management of the pub 10 spaces a season but they have now withdrawn this

that's good to hear, we need a boozer near the ground - and you can't get much nearer I spose!

Just checking though, you can ONLY get a drink if you buy food before the match - practically speaking, do you have to buy food everytime you get a round in or what??

Annis it is a decent place and I'm glad you have enjoyed it.. For me it lacks a bit of memorabilia that could b put up on matchdays (canvas' etc) and I would have a music playlist like Carlos Coaches away days to create a bit better atmosphere..

As for you Jazz yes mate you can only drink if u buy food, they then give u a receipt to show again everytime u wanna drink
