Monday 9th February 2015

' Brighton manager Chris Hughton says '

"Cardiff are similar to a lot of clubs that come down from the Premier League. They are finding themselves again, adjusting to life in the Championship.

"We have seen that with numerous clubs, your Boltons and Blackburns.

"They have still got a lot of players in the squad that were involved in their Premier League time."

The Seagulls head to Wales tomorrow night still two points and a place above the drop zone to face Cardiff, who are below halfway in the table following relegation from the Premier League last season.

' Brighton '

It’s been a hard grind for Brighton at home this season and they have earned only three wins from 15 matches at their Amex Stadium.

Brighton have also secured three victories away – against Fulham, Charlton and Leeds – in the league, plus a cup success at Brentford.

Brighton have Dale Stephens back in their squad for the first time in 10 months, while the experienced Greg Halford is back in contention.

Solly March, though, is a likely absentee.

Former Charlton midfield player Stephens, out since April with ankle ligament and nerve damage, has made three appearances in the development team over the last few weeks.

Manager Chris Hughton: “Dale is in the squad. We’re happy that he has done enough training and showed enough to be part of the squad.”

Utility player Halford, on loan from Nottingham Forest, could not play against his parent club in Brighton’s last game under the terms of the loan agreement. He missed the previous three games with a calf problem.

“Greg is back fit and fine and is available to play at Cardiff,” said Hughton.

The next two home matches are absolutely crucial to Slade and his team, who must earn at least four points to ease growing pressure.

Anything less would send them into successive matches at Huddersfield and Wigan looking nervously over their shoulders.

A final decision on whether Marshall or Simon Moore will start in goal against Brighton will be made closer to kick-off.

Lee Peltier and Scott Malone suffered minor knocks at Wednesday but both are expected to play against Brighton.

Moore should continue between the sticks, he's been fantastic since taking over.

Gonna be a tough game for us, Brighton will come looking for maximum points, if we play the way we did in first 45 minutes at Wednesday, we should kill off this game.

FIGHT TO THE END LADS, FOR WE NEED THIS WIN :bluescarf:

It's your game. Don't know why the club waste our time and everyone else's as our line up is to stifle you and hope for a draw. Stockdale, Greer and JFC and Best, Oh deary me.

The only positives I can see is that my hotel is up the road and a good night sleep.

Been listening on radio Cymu cos I live in North Wales now.
In the first half they said it was one of the worst games theyve ever commentated on!!. CCFC had no shape, no effort to close down, poor possession and just lumping the ball to KJ. They said its hard to believe how far the club has gone backwards since Slade arrived.
And they didnt blame the crowd booing at half time and at the end cos they pay good money and RS is serving up dross for them to watch. Only two chances created against quite a poor Brighton side.
:sad7:
