:bluescarf: ' CARDIFF CITY FANS UNITED & READY FOR MORE PROTESTS :bluescarf:

Below is the press release, supported by all Cardiff City Supporters Groups, outlining the plans for the club to return to our traditonal blue and bluebird badge next season.

The first protest is on :bluescarf: " SATURDAY JAN 31st V DERBY HOME " :bluescarf: where the club will be presented with a letter requesting that we return to blue next season and petitions that have already been collected will be handed in as well prior to kick off.

The second protest will be filling the stadium with blue scarves, blue tops and blue flags on the night game :bluescarf: " TUESDAY NIGHT 10th FEBRUARY V BRIGHTON HOME " :bluescarf: which is virtually two years to the day of the red scarf giveaway, which coincidentally was also versus Brighton.

The hope is that thousands of Bluebirds will support the return to blue campaign and the pressure is ramped on the club to do so.

:bluescarf: Cardiff City fans announce major protest plans as they step up campaign to see club play in blue again :bluescarf:

By Paul Abbandonato

Cardiff supporters groups unite to reveal protest march ahead of Derby game and 'Blue Tuesday' call for Brighton match in New Year

Cardiff City fans are to step up their back to blue campaign by staging two formal protests early in the new year.

Various supporters groups have united together to announce plans for a public march ahead of the January 31 Championship clash with Derby.

They will follow that with a ‘Blue Tuesday’ protest at the League game with Brighton 11 days on, where supporters are urging everyone to make Cardiff City Stadium a sea of blue.

The Brighton match has been handpicked because it will be the two-year anniversary of the night when the club handed out free red scarves. That 2013 game, coincidentally, was also against Brighton, when Malky Mackay’s Bluebirds lost 2-0.

A joint statement was released this afternoon by various supporters bodies to reveal the plans in the coming back to back home matches.

The groups involved include Cardiff City Supporters Trust, Cardiff City Supporters Club, Cardiff City Forum, Cardiff City Online and even Australian-based body Bluebirds Down Under.

The fans are demanding a return to the traditional blue shirt in time for the 2015-16 season and are hoping the pressure they apply persuades Vincent Tan to do a u-turn on his controversial rebrand.

Malaysian tycoon Tan has always wanted Cardiff to wear red, arguing it is seen as a colour of good fortune in the Far East.

The statement from the supporters bodies read: “Members of main Cardiff City supporters groups will join together on Sat 31st Jan at 2pm and march from Canton to the Cardiff City Stadium to deliver a letter to the club, formally requesting a change back to Cardiff City’s traditional blue home kit with bluebird badge for the 2015-16 season.

“Thousands of supporters are expected to attend this passionate demonstration and supporters groups and individual fans are also invited and encouraged to join in. Route to be announced shortly.”

Explaining the objective, the statement continues: “It is hoped Cardiff City FC and its owners will accept that the vast, overwhelming majority of its fans (and customers) passionately desire a return to our traditional blue home kit. We ask the club to take positive steps to return us to blue in time for the 2015-16 season.

“It is also hoped that the club recognise that by changing the home kit back to blue, it will, without question, have a huge positive impact on Cardiff City FC, not only as a football club, but as business and as a focal point of the community, making it a club that we can each once again be proud of together.”

Announcing the extra plans for the Brighton match on February 10, the statement goes on: “A huge second follow-up event is to take place at Cardiff City’s home game against Brighton.

“It will almost be two years to the day that Cardiff last played Brighton on a cold, February Tuesday night, a night that many fans will never forget due to the red scarf give away.

“This time, supporter groups will ask fans to join them and take part in a massive celebration of blue inside the stadium.

“With an overwhelming display of blue kits, scarves and flags, we will take back our stadium and proudly restore blue as the true natural colour of Cardiff City Football Club.”

I'll be on the public march, and hopefully will see a mass of blue inside the stadium when I watch the match on TV. Won't go into the ground though, not until the day the real Cardiff City start playing there again. Hope these demo's help to make that day sooner rather than later.

This protest is going to be the most effective of what has been done to date to restore our rightful identity, Blue shirts and the proper Bluebird badge.
Here, ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls is our chance to get our traditional colours and badge back and to bring back the once proud Cardiff City so I urge you to stand up and be counted at both the march and the sea of blue at the stadium.
We'll always be BLUE, coz we're Cardiff City.

Hope we will reach the same numbers as last time. We need more of the crowd to follow round to the main entrance of the club though. A route past the sand Martin and strait to the main entrance would be better than the route down sloper road I think. :bluescarf:

I will support the full colour show at Brighton it's a fantastic idea .

The March I will be staying away from . I think they are aggressive in nature and most of the other marches were not nice places to be around so will not be joining in that one . In all fairness if the letter is not handed to tan himself it's pretty pointless anyway because it's him and only him who needs to see this not his yes men in the ground who will probably not give it to him anyway.

The colour show and demonstrations on tv when he may be watching is the way to go imo

Well done for trying though it shows the club isn't dead yet

I will not be protesting.

I am a City fan.

The only thing I care about, and have done since 1969 is the football team.

Not club. The team.

Best of luck in the protest but it has made 0% difference so far, and will make 0% difference in the future.

I really hate the rebrand. I detest the lack of respect for the fans and the club and the whole Cardiff City persona.

It is a business decision. Either VT takes a loss and writes off millions and does one or he doesn't. Protesting won't make an iota of difference; that's obvious following 2 seasons of it.

One can protest too much.

But...............I wish you luck. Stranger things have happened.

CCFC - bluebirds - CCFC- forever :bluescarf: :bluescarf: :bluescarf: :bluescarf: :bluescarf: :bluescarf: :bluescarf:

Disappointed to be honest. Very mild by the Supporters Clubs.
Petitions and letters have been handed in before and had no effect.
Also blue tops and scarfs also to no effect.

I take the opposite point of view Danny. Seen stacks of teams, mangagers, etc. representing the club. To me, the club takes priority over everything. Could get rid of the entire team now, and still bring in enough players to form a new team to represent our club. Lose the club, and the players become irrelevant. Two completely different points of view, but one important thing in common, we have both been loyal supporters of Cardiff City for a long time, and hopefully for a long time to come. Have a good xmas.

These protests wouldn't be happening if Cardiff were top of the league or in the playoffs at least. If blue was the colour then why did people even accept the red scarf giveaway bonanza in the first place?

These "protests", if that's what you can call the act of holding up a blue scarf for a bit, have done jot all to change Tans mind.

Money will change his mind and until someone either stumps up and buys him out or fans stop giving him their coin, Cardiff City will play in red.

Still, it's a lot easier to boycott and protest when the team is playing crap.

There was a number of protests that season, just not many numbers.
March at Liverpool home game, plenty of sit-ins after the game. Again, just not enough numbers.
At all various stages, we were doing ok in the Premier League

I'm guessing the record attendances were a sign of protest too.

How much protesting was done in the promotion year?

Those red scarves looked lovely around everyone's necks at the last Brighton home game.

Not enough in promotion season, that's for sure!
Anyone that took a scarf that night should take a long, hard look at themselves.

There was always going to be near sell outs in Premier League, 1000's would've got them just to see their beloved Clubs from across the boarder
