I knew he would flop at Fulham because paying 11 million is just ridiculous in the championship and the pressure was always going to be huge.

This is fine, but Derby need to appreciate that Ross only has one position in a team that makes him effective

He had a wonderful free-scoring first season for us when he was here, but was less so in the second when he was moved out wide and Whitts took over the mantle of 'goal scorer'

Same happened at Leeds and now at Fulham, where successive managers (Magath and Symons) have failed to play to Ross' undoubted strengths
