Greens/eco campaigners

Thu Nov 27, 2014 1:46 pm

What do these people want ?
they don't want us burning coal/fossil fuel because of greenhouse gases.
they don't want gas fired stations because of gases.
they don't want nuclear power because of the obvious reasons.
they don't want wind turbines coz they spoil the landscape.
they don't want hydro power because it floods natural valleys.
they don't want a tidal barrage on the seven because it will kill 3 newts and some seaweed.
what the hell are we supposed to generate power from...or do we all go back to living in caves.

They are just permanent complainers. Same people at all the demonstrations - climate change, political meetings, anti- EDF, anti racist, anti work, strikes, save the trees, save the (anything they can think of insert here) etc

They all need to get a good wash and get a job instead of scrounging off the working people in this country.

I think this is what they want:

http://policy.greenparty.org.uk/ey.html

Or to reduce to 2 main points: reduce/eliminate wasted energy and maximise clean/renewable energy sources.

A good starting point?

They have a lot if very feasible ideas to reduce energy consumption and reduce our domestic energy bills by being a lot stricter on the corporations without any intentions of lining their own pockets. They want ownership of energy generation to be controlled democratically and not by a bunch of fat cats who don't give a shit about the environment or the consumer (you and I)

At the moment one of the reasons were paying so much for energy because the people producing it aren't doing it economically. You wait 30/40 years and see what happens when we just take take take with no sustainable plan things will just get worse and more expensive and then most of us will be priced out of heating our houses as many elderly people are today who have worked their whole lives for a tiny pension that doesn't support rising energy bills.

If we had spent as much money on clean coal technology as we have on solar panels and wind farms we would still have a thriving coal industry and would not be held to ransome by Russia and the middle east for our fuel.

imo 99% of the things we do that are harmful to our environment bring about no actual long term benefit to our species. But I suppose that is human nature.

I would say we need a complete over haul of how we do things but that'll never happen. People get too clogged up in meaningless stuff like the importance of flogging shit to each other half way around the world and military junta kicking off about a bus lane. All a bit of a waste of time.

The Greens hopefully will get bigger and bigger imo. There is no reason for us to not cut back emissions etc.

We could harm the environment less but it is just convenient to do so so the people from the top to the bottom don't give a crap.

Lets all ride to work on bicycles holding hands singing.

Was having a debate about the UKIP party and a Green supporter said her party offer more than the UKIP.

That is besides being environmental friendly they are against the EU. In fact she claimed they went further than the UKIP when it comes to immigration. Worth a read up they are. It will make you think again if you are pro UKIP.

I would go as far to say - CLOSE THE BORDERS - but let people out of course. However, the GP are not saying this :sleepy2:
