WHITTINGHAM - Hate to say I told you so !!!

All those voices on the Forum and at the Stadium calling for Whittingham to be dropped....Madness. I have always stuck by Whitts on the Forum and will argue with anyone who thinks differently. He is still the most creative and skilful player that we have. That complete burke "Ole" had Whitts sitting deep and doing nothing. Sometimes us fans forget that players are doing what they are told to do, much as we would like them to get forward the manager will not let them. Thanks God for Russell Slade, another person I stuck up for on here. He is like a breath of fresh air after Ole. At least he wants to get forward. It is early days but the team are playing well and seem to believe again. Please stick by Whittingham....I will as he is the best we've got !!

I & many others could see he was constantly played too deep but it did get quite amusing sometimes reading the numpties on here who wanted him dropped, transferred & reckoned their granny could play better.
If not now, the guy will become a club legend in the future.

It is fair to say Whitts is not a specialist in all the positions....absolute waste of his talent holding when his left foot bangs in lots of goals if he's further up the pitch

Haven't changed my opinion, I would still rather he is dropped if he is going to be placed deep in a holding role.

Now he is playing further forward a about long as he keeps his form up we have one of the best players in the league.

manga is the first defender we've had who actually comes out to meet people instead of stand off them, this means that he not only covers his line but the area in front of him and everyone can push up more because of it.

It's true what you say regarding Manga but Whitts gets further forward because he been instructed to play further forward.
To be fair to him he does his defensive duties as well.

I am a student, if you made me a rocket scientist I would be terrible too, same difference and the fault of managers who were blind to the players in front of them.

since jones left we haven't had a system that we could play whitts in whatsoever and the fact that he stayed with us is a true testament to his nature.

Today we learnt that Ralls isn't up to the heavy lifting role. Undoubtedly Whitts needs a grafter with him. There'll be games whem Digachoi and Ademyemi will be our midfield duo, we'll see how much we miss Whitts craft. You do need to earn the right the play in this division.

You took my jibe in good spirit, I commend you! You make some good points and I don't disagree with you. I like your comment about players needing to earn the right to play.
