My View

' CARDIFF CITY TONIGHT/MORE THAN STUNNED ME '

Cardiff City 3 Ipswich Town 1

Crowd 20,191

Marshall, Brayford, Fabio, Morrison, Ecuele Manga, Whittingham, Gunnarsson, Noone, Pilkington, Macheda, Le Fondre.

I was away for the Forest match http://www.annisabraham.co.uk/photos-2/ ... -belgrade/ :thumbright: :thumbright: So I only ever watched the highlights.

After watching clueless football under Ole Solskjaer since January and players with no desire. Tonight I can honestly say I was more than stunned by the change in our teams desire, hunger, fightback and football over all. :thumbright: :thumbright:

Well done Russell Slade so far,BUT I wont really comment over all until at least 6 games in

For me when Ipswich scored in the 29th minute it was against the run of play and City did not deserve to go 1 nil down. Immediately I thought here we go, but no City went straight at them and continued to attack and Peter Whittingham showed that he has not lost the class he had a few years ago with a wonder goal in the 37th minutes to make it 1-1 :ayatollah:

City never lied down and this I loved :thumbright: :ayatollah: :ayatollah:

1-1 at half-time, City edged it for me .

We came out in the second half even more up for it and within 2 minutes Macheda had made it 2-1 :thumbright:

On the 48th minute Cardiff fans along with Ipswich fans did a minutes applause for the Aberfan disaster 48 years ago :ayatollah: :ayatollah: :ayatollah: :ayatollah:

In the 54th minute Craig Noone had a superb shot saved by the Ipswich goalie.

It was all Cardiff and in the 68th minute Le Fondre shot and i think it was deflected in to make it 3-1 to City :thumbright: :ayatollah: :ayatollah: :bluescarf: :bluescarf:

Did not look good for Macheda,as he went off injured, which looks like a hamstring injury. Joe Ralls replaced him.

The ref for me was poor, but who cares City deservedly won 3-1 :thumbright: :ayatollah: :bluescarf:

Russell Slade at the final whistle went to all 4 sides of the ground and applauded :thumbright: then punched the air with his fist Hmmmm?(Malky  )

Gunnarson for me gave a battling display, over all great team performance,
but
Man of the match for me Fabio :thumbright:

Every team dropping points at the top, only Derby looking good, its all to play for :ayatollah: :ayatollah: :bluescarf: :bluescarf:

Am I getting carried away with 2 wins, def not, but I am more than happy tonight :thumbright: :thumbright:

Millwall next :ayatollah: :ayatollah:

I love fabio's commitment but he was at fault for their goal, albeit a wonder strike, and he dives in when he didn't need to. Better going forward than he is defending.

I will judge around Christmas time which is more than 6 games.

If we are not in the top 6 or just outside then what is happening now which looks good will mean nothing. To me it looks like we have got some plan and structure in place now. With the quality squad we are told we have, although I'm not convinced it is that good, this is something we should have had at the start of the season. An average manager could have got us where we are now. This just goes to show what a donkey decision it was to bring in Ole.

So now we have this structure in place. The real test is going to come over the next few games to see if we can get some consistency. If after a set back we can bounce back. If after losing someone through suspension or injury we can keep that structure with the replacement. By Christmas we should know this.

Big improvement, well done Slade. I thought Fabio MOM, stunning performance. Credit to Gunnarsson and Noone, ran him close. But in fairness everyone played well.

There is always a mistake or two in Fabio every game, however it can be forgiven as he does so much work getting stuck in to tackles, making a complete nuisance of himself and then getting forward supporting attacks, he is quality in this division
It's great to see the start that Slade has had and the team playing as a team, I hope I will have to eat my words in the next few weeks  Can't wait for The Wall on Saturday  :ayatollah: :bluescarf:

This is the team who according to some posters a few weeks back are relegation candidates, especially after Slade was appointed with no Championship experience. You don't need to know much about football to see that this squad have no chance of being involved in a relegation fight. Not saying they will definitely finish in the top ten, but those who said we are going down will soon be proven to show that they know absolutely nothing about football.

Nice to see some continuity in the team selection(Fabio exception)
Did Ole ever select the same consecutive team?

Early days for singing the managers praises but he couldn't of wished for a better start.

Maybe Vinnie has found a gem ;)

Fabio is class at this level, the most important next step in his career is if he can upgrade his tactical awareness, man-marking and concentration. If this happens I dare say Cardiff could be seeing hefty transfer fees being lodged for his services :ayatollah: :ayatollah: :bluescarf:

The team/squad was far to good to ever be relegated under any manager.
Slade has over 650 matches behind him in the lower divisions, fantastic start by him, but judgement on all managers should be after a run of games :ayatollah: :ayatollah:

I thought Slade deserved his chance at our club. I was one of those who couldn't see anything wrong with his appointment, but obviously "have my head up my arse" to quote Leytonstoneblue, who also could only see us going one way, to the very bottom. Two wins may not mean much at the moment, but can't understand how anyone could possibly think that this current squad could get anywhere close to being relegated. They could survive at this level comfortably without even having a manager.

I was one of them 100% against Slade having the job and I be more than happy for him to prove me wrong :thumbright:

As to relegation this squad should never even be associated with relegation, but under Ole it could of happened and I was not for Ole either.
