Fabio will surely return at left-back now that he has overcome the illness that forced him out of the 2-1 win against Forest. Joe Ralls, who took over at left-back, will be among the substitutes.

Cardiff City, Illness and a hamstring issue in the warm up for Fabio and Declan John, respectively, meant that both had to sit out the win over Nottingham Forest with question marks over both still.

Tom Adeyemi's hamstring, that forced him off just minutes after coming on, will keep him out the squad but Federico Macheda should be fine after feeling cramp when he went off after opening the scoring, notching his first league goal for us.

Injury and illness looks like it'll keep out loanee Ravel Morrison again though as he awaits his first taste of action under Russell Slade.

Ipswich should have three players back that missed their game on Saturday, as Daryl Murphy's Achilles issue should have cleared up with Luke Chambers and Teddy Bishop over illness.

They do have some doubts over Jonathan Parr and Tyrone Mings though with a hip injury ruling Luke Hyam out.

' LATEST ON CITY'S INJURIES '

Cardiff’s medics will assess Morrison today, with Slade adding: “Ravel opened up his knee a little and it has been causing him problems.

“On top of that he had a bit of a virus, but we are hopeful he will be over that. But there is a chance he will be available against Ipswich.”

Federico Macheda was taken off just after the hour suffering from cramp, but Slade is confident the Italian will be fit to follow up on his goalscoring display.

City will definitely be without Ben Turner, Matt Connolly and Tom Adeyemi, who departed injured just minutes after coming on as a substitute.

“Ben and Matt are making good progress and will be available again pretty soon,” Slade said.

“Tom will be assessed, but we are hoping it’s nothing more than a minor strain.”

Ravel Morrison has a slim chance of featuring for Cardiff when they welcome Ipswich.

' IPSWICH TOWN '

Ipswich expect striker Daryl Murphy, defender Luke Chambers and midfielder Teddy Bishop to be available.
Murphy missed Saturday's 1-1 draw at home to 10-man Blackburn with a sore Achilles while captain Chambers and Bishop were ill.
However, all three trained on Monday and boss Mick McCarthy anticipates being able to call on the trio.
But Town will monitor defenders Jonathan Parr and Tyrone Mings (ankle) with only midfielder Luke Hyam (hip) definitely sidelined.

Preview

Russell Slade will be hoping to build on an impressive win in his first game in charge of Cardiff City when Ipswich Town visit the Welsh capital for his second match on Tuesday night.

Slade guided Cardiff to a 2-1 victory over Nottingham Forest on Saturday lunchtime, ending high-flyers' 11-match unbeaten start to the season.

The former Leyton Orient boss made three changes in his first match at the helm and may want to go with the same XI against Ipswich.

Kenwyne Jones will be pushing to return to the starting lineup, though, and could well be favoured over Adam Le Fondre against a physical Ipswich backline.

The sixth-placed visitors come into the game on an eight-game unbeaten streak in the league, but they have suffered two crushing draws in their last two games.

Before the international break they conceded a 94th-minute equaliser at Nottingham Forest and then, on Saturday, 10-man Blackburn Rovers did the same in the 93rd minute at Portman Road.

Mick McCarthy was forced to leave out captain Luke Chambers and in-form Daryl Murphy against Rovers yesterday, but both could return for the trip to Cardiff.

The last meeting between these two sides was a goalless draw in January 2013. Cardiff have won just one of their last nine games against Ipswich, who have come out on top in six of those matches.

Possible starting lineups

Cardiff: Marshall; Brayford, S Morrison, Manga, Ralls; Whittingham, Noone, Gunnarsson, Pilkington; Jones, Macheda

Ipswich: Gerken; Parr, Chambers, Berra, Mings; Skuse, Bru, Williams; Murphy, McGoldrick, Sammon

Team news

Cardiff will hope that Fabio recovers from his illness, and will be fit to start against Ipswich on Tuesday.
Slade is likely to keep a relatively unchanged side to the one that performed very well against Forest on the weekend.

Cardiff are at the Cardiff City Stadium again, where we won on Saturday, with Ipswich the visitors on Tuesday.

Illness and a hamstring issue in the warm up for Fabio and Declan John, respectively, meant that both had to sit out the win over Nottingham Forest with question marks over both still.

Tom Adeyemi's hamstring, that forced him off just minutes after coming on, will keep him out the squad but Federico Macheda should be fine after feeling cramp when he went off after opening the scoring, notching his first league goal for us.

They do have some doubts over Jonathan Parr and Tyrone Mings though with a hip injury ruling Luke Hyam out.

Slade made a positive impression on his first game as Bluebirds manager, I've little doubt that he'll be looking for the same level of energy, effort and commitment from his side again just as we will.

If we get that I can't see why we can't be celebrating again against Mick McCarthy's side.

I'll go for a 3-1 Victory.

Russell Slade:  “We want to see work ethic and desire within the squad and a game plan stuck to. We have set standards and have to keep to those against Ipswich.

“Leyton Orient played Ipswich in a pre-season fixture when I was manager and their team will be well organised and full of character.”

Mick McCarthy:  “It wasn’t his first win was it? He’s been there as a consultant, but to get a win when it’s your first official game as manager will have boosted them. He changed a few things around and will have been delighted.

"They’ll be full of it, but then I look at it the other way. They were always going to get a win, so why not let it be Saturday (v Forest) rather than Tuesday against us? There’s all sorts of ways at looking at it.”

The Tractor Boys are yet to be defeated at Cardiff City Stadium
Russell Slade's side were the first side to defeat Nottingham Forest this season, proving records are made to be broken

KEY OPPOSITION PLAYER: David McGoldrick
Former Nottingham Forest and Southampton striker McGoldrick has become a crucial part of Mick McCarthy's team since returning from long-term injury. The powerful forward has scored four goals already this term, including a special curled free-kick against Blackburn Rovers on Saturday. Certainly a player for the City defence to look out for.

ONE TO WATCH: Jonathan Williams
A Wales international, many Cardiff City fans will already be aware of the threats Jonathan Williams can cause. The on-loan Crystal Palace man rejoined Ipswich for a second loan spell at the end of September and has already made three appearances for Mick McCarthy's side over the past few weeks. A tenacious midfielder, Williams could be a thorn in the side of the hosts on Tuesday evening.
