' Aaron Ramsey to miss Wales qualifiers '

Postby worcester_ccfc » Mon Sep 29, 2014 12:53 pm

Monday 29th Sept 2014.
Wales will be without midfielder Aaron Ramsey for October's Euro 2016 qualifiers against Bosnia-Hercegovina and Cyprus in Cardiff.

Arsenal's Ramsey, 23, has a hamstring injury and is expected to be out for up to a month.

Wales boss Chris Coleman also has a worry over another Premier League midfielder, Liverpool's Joe Allen.

Bosnia-Hercegovina visit Cardiff Stadium on Friday, 10 October and Cyprus travel there three days later.

Ramsey was substituted during the first half of the north London derby against Tottenham Hotspur, which ended in a 1-1 draw.

Gunners boss Arsene Wenger said the hamstring injury would initially rule Ramsey out of games with Galatasaray on Wednesday and Chelsea on 5 October.

Ex-Swansea player Allen, 24, has not played since injuring a knee in their 2-1 away win over Andorra on 9 September.

Ramsey damaged an ankle that night but recovered to rejoin the Gunners' campaign.

Coleman received some potentially good news when striker Sam Vokes said he could be fit for next month's Wales games.

The 24-year-old has not played for Burnley or Wales since suffering a serious knee injury in March.

Vokes joined up with Coleman's squad ahead of the Group B opener in Andorra, which Wales won despite falling behind early on.
