Cardiff City owner Vincent Tan is confident Russell Slade will be installed as the Championship side's new manager in the near future.
The Malaysian businessman turned to former Leyton Orient boss Slade after Ole Gunnar Solskjaer called time on his nine-month stint at the Cardiff City Stadium earlier this month.
Slade, 53, who resigned his post at Brisbane Road last week, will take over once formalities are completed.
Since Solskjaer's departure, Scott Young and Danny Gabbidon have been in charge of the side and they chalked up their first win as caretaker managers with a 2-1 home victory over Sheffield Wednesday last Saturday.
Speaking to Sky Sports News HQ, Tan said: "We now have a little problem with Leyton Orient, but that is being sorted out.
"He is helping us a little bit on consultancy until he can sort out his contract. Then we can officially hire him.
"I think he will make a good manager for us. All I can say to the Cardiff fans is give him a chance, give him a break."

How about giving us paying customers a chance and a break, as he so hypocritically put it, and give us back our club crest and colours and let the football men do their jobs and keep your meddling out! If you can't do that then go!!
