Here's mine

Has to be 4-4-2 for me as we have to much up top not to play two strikers

Could possibly adapt to 4-5-1 away tho

GK- Marshall

RB- John Brayford
CD- Manga
CD- Cala (probably turner if not injured)
LB- Fabio

RM- Pilkington
DM- Dikagio (when fit or gunnarson)
AM - Deahli
LM- Noone

ST- Guerra
ST- Jones

Think the defence almost speaks for itself

Think cala and manga will establish a good understanding given time and the full backs speak for themselves

Midfield is tough cos we are so overrun and it's a problem we've had for a long time

We need an enforcer yet we never get one

Dikagio could be the answer but not fit so that's why I suggest 4-5-1 but that will mean leaving out some quality up top?!

Otherwise for me it has to be daehli and gunnarson don't rate gunnarson that highly but he can do the donkey work proved that under Mackay if given a task to sit and defend he can do it at this level, whitts is a luxury player one we simply cannot afford at the minute

Noone speaks for itself and would be a toss up between burgstaller and Pilkington for me but I'd still like to see a winger ion loan that can tear This league up or maybe kadeem given a chance as he can certainly beat a man

Guerra class above our other strikers must start when fit

Jones hard to drop at the minute only player that looks up for the fight

Bench of

Moore
Morrison
Whitts
Burgstaller
Gunnarson
Macheda
ALF

One thing I would say here is we still don't look good enough in midfield and I think here lies out biggest problem

You need a Kevin Nolan, Joey Barton or a Michael brown type player in there to break things up we just don't have that unless Dikagio can get fit and stay fit perhaps he's the answer??

This leaves a few out but the likes of Maynard and adeymi have shown little to warrant a bench place for me so far

Think burgstaller is better than we think as well

So you want to keep changing the team around like Ole and hope for the best?

The reason we're playing so bad is because we have an unsettled team.

I like that side very much and arguably our strongest would play cala before Connolly mind you

Hard to leave out noone tho

Dropping whitts and gunnarsson .... Gunnarsson seems to be chomping at the bit when he comes on as an impact player... From the start he' doesn't offer enough..

How many games we going to keep carrying whitts....

Guerra for daehli... He's been poor this season.... Guerra looked a class act... And could be a nice link up player.

Blackwood_Bluebird, I agree Daehli has been poor so far and also agree in that Guerra looks to have that class we are missing, but I think in a more central role with a bit of creative license Daehli would thrive in that position.

On a separate note, although Jones has to start, I can't help but feel he completely inhibits the way in which we play.
With him up front, the long ball is far too easy and the emphasis is on getting it to the wings, who have to get crosses in.

With a more mobile CF we'd have the option to play balls in behind the back four, and movement can drag the CBs around the pitch but atm with Jones this isn't happeing

I agree on that with jones, it makes us very one dimensional. Almost as if we have to knock it up to him and hoe for the ball to drop somewhere.

We have good box strikers in le fondre, guerra etc.. And I would like to see this. Maybe we should bedding burgstaller who is a winger and while noone out get pilkington on the other flank. And play with width.

Most decent teams are based around a solid base or a spine with a bit of timkering here and there. Last season we had Marshall, Caulker, Medel, Campbell. So far this season we've had marshall, an other, an other, Jones. There's been no consistency and no spine. Whitts has got to be dropped. I'm sorry but there were far to many balls played over the top of midfield last night because Whitts/Gunnarson, Adeyemi all seemed reluctant to be the first option for the CB's, so there was a huge gap in front of them hence the balls over the top. Like others I think Cala and Manga could build a decent partnership, I'm still not sure abour the centre mids, but as someone else has said Gunnarson makes a decent bench man but not a starter. Guerra and Jones should start up front, with Le Fondre as first choice replacement. I'd like to see Bergstaller given a chance as I thought he looked ok against Wolfsberg. So for that I'd like to see

Marshall
Brayford manga Cala Fabio
Noone Diggy Adeyemi Pilkington
Guerra Jones

bench - Moore, Connolly, John, Whitts, le Fondre, Bergstaller, daehli

Saying that though I dont think anyone would be surprised if Oles team for Derby was

Moore
Connoly Turner John
Harris Kim Eikrem Whitts
Maynard Jones Velikonja

Marshall

Brayford Manga Cala Fabio

Harris/Pilkington Adeyemi Whittingham Noone

Guerra Jones (or Daehli just dropping in the hole behind Guerra).

I keep hearing how well Harris playing in the DVP. We are crying out for 2 pacy, tricky wingers ...can't understand why he hasn't been given a punt.

Whittingham without a shadow of a doubt needs to be dropped. I have loved him over the years but he stands out as the biggest pile of shite on that pitch this season. I have no idea why or how his attitude for the club has changed.

Burgstaller in my opinion offers much more than Pilkington too.

Pretty much same as my OP then I think when all fit that's our strongest line up think burgstaller will be better than pilkington

Yeh, pretty much except I haven't been impressed with Daehli this season and I don't think Pilko brings much to the game either :o The formation I totally agree with you on. Playing a defensive midfielder allows our full backs to get forward more.

Don't see why people insist with 2 CDM's as our CM in a flat 4 man midfield with KD and Adeyemi.

I would go for:

Marshall

Fabio
Manga
Connolly
Brayford

Adeyemi

Noone
Whittingham
Pilkington

Jones
Le Fondre
I will.
And before anyone els gets in there no im not an ideot abroad

GK - Marshall
RB - Brayford
CB - Manga
CB - Cala
LB - Fabio
CDM - Adeyami
CDM - Dikgacoi
RAM - Noone
LAM - Harris
CAM - Daelhi/Guerra
ST - Guerra/ Jones

With this defence and Midfield we would be more solid in Solid while still have quick wings and winger to heart teams on the flacks. Two cb's who are very comfortable with the ball at the feet. Two solid CDM's to give us the physical presence we are missing in the centre of the park and then Guerra or Daelhi as the num 10 as they are most agile and creative players. What do you like or disagree with? If Pulis - played this formation a lot before we would be very organised

For me I couldn't give two fuks if ppl think 4-5-1 is to defensive I'd start

Marshall,Fabio,manga,Turner(when fit)/Morrison,Brayford,dikgacoi,adeyemi,Noone,whittingham,Pilkington,Jones

Football ain't rocket science get it down get it to the quick men out wide get it in the box to the big man and at least one midfielder and opposite winger fill the box
