Cardiff defender Mark Hudson set to join Huddersfield Town
BY SEAN MAKIN ⋅ SEPTEMBER 1, 2014 ⋅

Huddersfield Town are set to sign Cardiff City defender Mark Hudson according to Sky Sports journalist Pete O’Rouke.

The 32-year-old was being chased by fellow Championship side Fulham, the club he started his career at, but it now appears that the Terriers have won the race for the defender’s signature.

Mark Hudson is poised to join Huddersfield Town.

The Cardiff club captain has made 165 appearances, scoring 11 goals since joining from Charlton Athletic in 2009 for £1.75 million.

Hudson played a significant part of the Cardiff side that won promotion to the Premier League in 2013.

The defender came through the youth ranks at Fulham but never made a first-team appearance. However, he had successful loan spells at Oldham and Crystal Palace.

The loan move to Palace was turned into a permanent one in 2004 and Hudson would help the Eagles win promotion to the Premier League via the play-offs.

He made 136 appearances in four years at Selhurst Park before joining Charlton on a free in the summer of 2008.

Hudson spent a single season at Charlton making 45 appearances before joining Cardiff.
