Strange apparently some of the team were unhappy with his managerial methods.

Doing well as well.

Head Coach says he's "proud of what he's achieved" and feels "he's given everything" after eight months with Hornets...
BEPPE SANNINO'S tenure as Head Coach is over after he today tendered his resignation to the Watford FC Board.

The Italian, who leaves having given eight-and-a-half months' service at Vicarage Road, says he's immensely proud of what he's achieved during his time with the Hornets.

"I took over a very talented squad when I arrived - but they were boys in many ways", the 57-year-old said.

"I'm proud of what we have achieved and I have no doubt that the squad now, who look very much like men who know exactly what they must do, are very capable of getting promotion from this tough Championship league."

He added: "I know I have given everything to Watford; I have given my heart and soul to the job and I have been happy to do this because of the wonderful support I have received from everyone - and most of all the fans, who are truly amazing.

"However I feel I have gone as far as I can so, for the benefit of me and the club, I feel the time is right for me to move on.

"I am convinced whoever will be in charge in the future will have everything ready for him to deliver the success that everyone at the club would wish for"

Watford FC wishes to thank Beppe Sannino for all that he has achieved while with the club, wishes him well for his future in football and extends an open invitation to Beppe and his family as guests of the Hornets at any future matches.

If I was a chairman of a club struggling financially, I would find the longest odds on the person to become next manager, put as much money on them that gives the maximum payout, higher them for a day, thank you mr bookie

Im disappointed. He was a very old school manager, who never was one to pull any punches with telling the players what he thought of them. Some of the little darlings did not seem to like this, and there had been several fights between players and coaching staff.

It has been mooted around the club recently that he had lost the dressing room, and that we were winning games in spite of his leadership, rather than because of it.

Im sad to see him go, as he was a very genuine chap, however we need a manager to come in who commands the respect of the players.

Seemed a very good manager, but he doesn't seemed to last very long anywhere. Strange one. The Pozzo's will sort it out.

Watford to appoint Luke Dowling as Gian Luca Nani's replacement -

The Watford Observer can confirm that Luke Dowling will be the man to replace Gian Luca Nani at Vicarage Road.

The Hornets have been lining up a replacement for Nani for a while and the Italian handed in his resignation today – less than 24 hours after the transfer window shut.

Sky Sports reported late tonight that Dowling is “in line” to replace Nani and we can confirm that is the case and an agreement is already in place.
