Birmingham City transfer news: Blues will pick up £800,000 from sale of Jordon Mutch

Birmingham City stand to gain around £800,000 from the sale of Jordon Mutch.

Blues are entitled to a 20 per cent cut of any profit Cardiff City make on the midfielder.

That was the sell-on clause inserted when Mutch was sold by Blues to the Welsh side in 2012 for around £2 million.

Mutch completed his £6 million switch to QPR on Tuesday, triggering the St Andrew’s cash injection.

Mutch came through the Blues Academy ranks after signing from Derby County as a schoolboy.

His sale by Blues, for a relatively small sum, and that of others around the time, was required to keep the club afloat.

And, sadly, there has been no change in that approach at St Andrew’s because of the parent company mess.

Other Academy stars Jack Butland and Nathan Redmond were cherry-picked by opportunist clubs for the same reason.

And now Tom Adeyemi is on his way to Cardiff, having demanded a transfer.

Blues are to receive in excess of £1 million for Adeyemi.

Manager Lee Clark, it is expected, will be given some funds to find a replacement for Adeyemi.

But it is unrealistic to believe that all the Mutch and Adeyemi money will go towards a new player, or new players.

Oh, that's good to hear. A relatively normal percentage considering his age when he signed for CCFC. Who said it was around 50%? Phew. :)

Good to have facts

That is very reasonable. So much for all the bollocks and doom and gloom spouted by the anti-Malky brigade on here. Good luck to Jordon and a decent profit for us too. :bluescarf: :bluescarf: :bluescarf:

That can't be true. It was confirmed on here yesterday that Birmingham would be getting £2.5 m.
These reporters haven't got a clue, they report rubbish without checking their sources.

If only they had read this forum they would have got their facts correct.

No way would Malky have allowed such a small sell on clause in the contracts for players.
This only states a sell on of 20% (normal for most clauses?), whereas Malky and Moody would have insisted on a 50% clause to Birmingham.

Someone quotes 50% and everyone jumps on board to slate malky, and then the true facts come out and half of them aren't anywhere to be seen. Think some people need to move on.

Agendas. Probably Tans own people in a muck spreading exercise to justify sacking Malky.

What about OGS signings?

Only Dhaeli looked as if he could get anywhere near the standard needed.

Thank God for that 50% as reported on here would of been ridiculous

Yes, Vincent Tan is paying me to spread rumours about Malky. :ayatollah:

Fabio - looks more than the part
Jones - scored in the Championship before
Eikrem - Norweigan international
Burgstaller - Austrian international
Le Fondre - Championship goalscorer
Macheda - Championship goalscorer
Guerra - Scored 15 goals in a relegation threatened side, more than Bale.

In this case partywithole is actually stating facts. I know for some it is hard to swallow, but they are what they are.
