' QPR in for Jordon Mutch '

Fri Aug 01, 2014 9:53 pm

Not sure if just paper talk or if already discussed on here. Just seen it myself.

To be honest I know very little about this player, where he plays or what he's worth.

Jordon Mutch set to sign for QPR for £5million

Cardiff City get their asking price.

The 22-year-old was part of the Cardiff City side that got relegated last season, but QPR boss Harry Redknapp wants him at Loftus Road.

Harry Redknapp is set to land Cardiff midfielder Jordon Mutch for £5million.

The QPR boss is also poised to pull off a coup with a season-long loan for Juventus World Cup wideman Mauricio Isla. The 26-year-old Chilean can play on the right or left of midfield and also at full-back.

Redknapp’s swoop for Mutch means he has pinched the 22-year-old from under the nose of Sunderland boss Gus Poyet, who had a bid rejected for the player.

Mutch, who scored against Chelsea and Liverpool last season, netted seven times for Cardiff. He has a year left on his contract and the Bluebirds wanted to hold on to him.

Following their relegation from the Premier League to the Championship however, Redknapp has swooped to keep the attacker in the Premier League.

Loic Remy will link up with the rest of the QPR squad during their pre-season tour to Ireland tomorrow. The French striker will join his team-mates in Dublin after his move to Liverpool collapsed last week.

Redknapp has urged the 27-year-old to make a swift decision about his future as the Hoops’ boss shapes his squad for the new campaign.

Adel Taarabt is also still part of his plans.

I am quite disappointed we have put a contract in front of him considering he has 1 year left, that's one thing that should been done last month.

I would take 5 million easily, CAM is strongest position for me.

I hope this isn't true and just paper talk, we need to do all we can to keep hold of Mutch think he will play big part next year and will become a top player.

Ole get him signed up long term :ole:

Forget the £5 million and let's get 3/4 players from QPR to strengthen the squad

Who would you like?

I'd think not so much in our plans and players who could do a job for you include;

Karl Henry

Shaun Wright Phillips

Gary O Neill

Coll Donaldson

Suk Young Yun

Brian Murphy GK

Stanley, that level could easily include Karl Henry, Wright Phillips, O'Neill but need defenders too ;)

The guy can't tackle for crap, useless at passing.

A midfield bitter which City haven't had for years

How do you know we haven't put a contract in front of him? I'd bet we have.

5m is about his value anyway, bit of a bottler, can't pass but decent getting forward and good running with the ball. Would be an excellent squad player for qpr.

I can see Mutch leaving in this window.

We can't honestly believe we haven't been trying to get him to sign a new deal over the past year. English players are like porn to Dirty Harry. I can see this one happening.

If we got a £5m bid we would have to sell.

Wel all know that there's a good working relationship between the two owners

This is one rumour I believe will come to fruition. As mentioned above English players are like porn to Dirty Harry. At least it is happening now with a month of the window left.

Mutch clearly isn't going to sign a new contract. We should sell for £5m and he's probably worth that to the Hoops.

Very good player but - Last year of contract. Not renewing. Injury prone. Rarely get 90 minutes out of him. Not that committed to Cardiff City...

Annis you slated DJ for losing good players on frees and now you want to keep Mutch with a good offer and only one year on his contract?
5m he has to go and I for one won't be bothered, bottler.

I was thinking the same, we are the club who have just gone , and you Stan say these Championship players could do a job for us... Our squad is still probably stronger than yours.. Do one Stan you patronising git ...

Re: ' QPR in for Jordon Mutch '

... I would also say to Stan - the thing I would be concentrating on from that Mirror article is the potential signing of Isla!!

You will be crazy lucky to get him as he is an amazing player. He's like having an extra player on the pitch as he covers so much ground. Can't believe Juve would sell him though they do have a massive squad. Champions League player NMFQAT.

Just paper talk. I hope he signs a new contract before the transfer window is out. Mutch deserves better than QPR

Re: ' QPR in for Jordon Mutch '

Mutch was one of the few positives from last season so never expected to keep him. Still very raw and inconsistent though. Surely ole will have a few targets in mind to replace him.

Chris Pike and moonbots you bitter and embarrassing tools, you sound stupid.

He replied to Adam Brown because Adam made a hint at players we could have from there, in no way he came across cocky or arrogant, whoppers.

Like your posts bud but disagree with the paper talk and Mutch deserving better stuff. Think this will happen.

£5million is too good to turn down for a player unwilling to sign a contract.

Would rather he stayed but unless he signs before the end of August he has to go.

Making a healthy profit and have an abundance of midfielders.

He put up average Championship players who he said could do a job for us. I have every right to say what i want about that, dont i ? Dont forget they are players who were lucky to beat Derby in the play off final. I seem to remember our squad is full of players who walked the Championship . :ayatollah:
