If we're going by numbers - Syria should be a more serious issue for people yet no one seems to care much at all and it doesn't really even make the news anymore.

Over 170,000 people estimated to have died thus far.

Worryingly, there's no chance of this, Annis. The USA is practically run by Jews. I have a horrible feeling that there's going to be a sort of 'stand off' with everyone afraid to get involved. With this comes the unfortunate suffering of thousands.

That's sadly exactly what is happening.

Had it been one of Oil countries the US would of been in there. Add to that the amount of wealthy Jewish folk/communities in the US. They didn't enter Syria because they have Russian backing and own most of the Syrian ports.... it all stinks of double standards.
Hamas are clearly looking to sacrifice their own people to start something bigger. Israel don't need an excuse to wipe these guys off the map.

Well if you can answer your last question then you've probably answered a question that's vexed the world for a long time.I remember the first gulf war and Saddam tried to get Israel invovled.Hammas is trying to do the same thing.They think the wider arab world will come to their rescue.

sadly there will never be peace there. israel will doggedly cling on to their jewish state using its military and gaza will not stop its campaign until the state of israel is wiped off the map.

all i know is that the first stop for anyone looking for unbiased reporting on this conflict should flock to a news outlet named 'itspalestinenotisrael'.

At anytime since then, had Hamas stopped the assault there would have been peace. Theses Arabs were given the land but it is not land they want but the eradication of Israel. I think you are saying that it's ok for the Arabs to unilaterally attack Israel but not for Israel to respond. Where would that position have left Europe in 1939? Some 3/4s of the Israeli population is now within striking range of the Hamas arsenal. Transposed on to Britain that's the equivalent of 47,000,000 of Britain's population.

Unless it has passed some's notice the IDF has, this week, uncovered a plot by Hamas to utilise her tunnel network to attemp to inflict 10,000 Jewish deaths. What are Israel to do in light of this? Nothing? Some think so.

Clearly these are very difficult days and I'm not knocking at one side and thinking the other is whiter than white. I am really saddened for the ordinary Arab population in Gaza who are saddled with the Hamas' leadership. I for one hope this terrible situation is resolved as soon as possible but it won't while one side has honoured 5 ceasefires and one continued their bombardment.

All Hamas or any other other Palestinian are doing is fighting for their rights,their rightful land and Freedom that Israel has stolen from them and made them feel like prisoners.

Actually, King David captured Jebus in 1000BC and since then Jerusalem has been the capital of the Jewish state viz Israel. It was only the expulsion of the Jews from the land in 1stC AD that it fell into a desert. Clearly you have forgotten the Holocaust where 6,000,000 Jews were gassed to death for no other reason than they were Jews. It was following this genoicde that the land was given back to Israel. The day following this momentous decision in 1948 all the Arab nations declared war on the day-old state but lost. Israel is here to stay and Jerusalem her capital.

The land laughingly called the West Bank or Occupied Territories actually is the heartland of the old Jewish state viz: Judea and Samaria. If you really are concerned about a truly occupied land be concerned for the Turkish occupied land in Cyprus. Revisionism is very shaky ground on which to build a thesis.

Steve, it's the Palestinian country, not Israels, they are occupying the Palestinian land, Hamas were voted in and because UK and USA don't accept them, they are labelled Terrorists.
