election coming up, they'll look for quick wins with the public that they can do something about!!

Now they need a task force to go around and turf out the others, no holding and human rights bollocks, send them back if they are illegal - end of!

so no one is seeing this as a clear PR excersise?

and why is everybody talking about illegals? if they are illegal they can't claim benefits anyway so the new ruling wont affect them at all. and it only applies to EU migrants, all of which are legal.

FWIW Immigrants (legal) tend to only take about 30% out of the country compared to what they put in...just something to think about when you want to "send them all home"

Well said, UKIP are useless and just pandering.
As much as I agree we need to sort out immigration, the day UKIP are in power is the day I'll want to emigrate.

they can also help staff it, as they do, in all sorts of jobs, in huge numbers.

there is a nursing shortage at the moment and immigrants make up a huge number of nhs nurses

there is actually a fairly robust immigration policy for non EU nationals in this country, the problem is its not enforced. its quite difficult for US citizens to get in.

the unwashed masses from hell holes queuing up in calais could be sent home if the politicians had the inclination, they just don't enforce the law.

as for EU nationals, as we all know we have no control over who comes here, criminals, unskilled workers etc are all welcome even though we don't need or want them. this rule will have no effect whatsoever, as despite what we're told, the vast majority come here to work, the problem is that they earn such low wages that they don't pay tax. and even if they do its far less than they take.

its something like a wage of £35k that someone stops being a burden on the system.
