Cardiff City are still awaiting a medical verdict on Craig Noone, who has had scans on his groin injury sustained at Carmarthen Town in pre-season.

The winger will miss the start of this season, but Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is hopeful the problem is not serious.

Noone had a similar problem last season and Solskjaer wants Cardiff's medical department to find the cause.

The Bluebirds, though, are unlikely to move for a new wide midfield player because Noone is expected back during the first few weeks of the season.

Guido Burgstaller and Mats Daehli are among the players who can play in that position.

City have been linked with Bolton's Lee Chung Yong, but that rumour seems to be untrue.

Sources at Cardiff City have discounted the rumours, while Bolton manager Dougie Freedman says he wants the South Korean to stay at the Macron Stadium.
