Inter Locked In Talks With Cardiff City Over Midfield Target

Forza Italian Football

Tuesday 21st July 2014

Inter remain locked in talks with Cardiff City over a possible deal for Gary Medel, but the two clubs are struggling to come to an agreement.

Inter held talks last week with the Welsh club over the Chilean international, but they demanded more than the €9 million the Italian club reportedly offered. Inter initially requested Medel on a loan deal with the view to a permanent move but Cardiff are more interested in making back most of the €13m they paid Sevilla for the 26-year-old last summer.

Tuttosport are claiming that Inter sporting director, Piero Ausilio, has flown to London to finalise a deal after securing the securing of Nemanja Vidic and Yann M’Vila in the past week.

Despite increasing suggestions from reports in Chile and Italy that a deal for Medel is close, it has not been clear whether Inter have made a compromise and returned with different terms.

I think it will be a disaster if we are stuck with him. Can see him going from being worth 6m-ish to next to nothing especially if he struggles in the championship which I think he could.

Get what we can and get rid of a prem deal.

Every sports news paper in Italy on twitter is reporting the deal has been agreed!

Wot a shocking deal if true! If Livermore is worth 8mil to hull and McCormack 11 mil to Fulham there's surely justification for a 8-10 million pound price tag on medel!

Time for Cardiff City negotiators to 'knock it on the head' and say "With respect, go away and don't come back until you are willing to be serious!"

Wouldn't be too unhappy for Medel to play in our opening game TBH
"If you think what I say is 'offensive' to you, you should hear what I keep to myself...!"
