Cardiff and Norwich are both understood to be tracking arsenal defensive midfielder Francis Coquelin.Cardiff see him as an ideal replacement for Inter Milan target Gary Medel.

Hope we don't get Dikgacoi. Never rated him and he seems to have problems with weight and basic fitness. I can't pronounce his name either!

I think we need more than one. We were linked to besic before the world cup.Wouldnt be surprised if ole wants another specialist holding midfielder alongside dikgaochi.
I am not convinced its enough with just dikgaochi with Gunnar as his back up.

If you want two players in each position Dikagoi and Gunnar are fine - Mutch would be a third back up if need be is fine. A new CB and a winger would be bigger priorities.

A new cb is the main priority but a holding midfielder is more important than winger in my opinion.

I don't rate Gunnar for the type of football ole wants to play. Gunnar is a fighter but the holding midfielder in possesion based football needs to be better passer of the ball.
Mutch hardly chips in with a tackle despite his stature he is not the type of physical player that can break down opposition play. I think if dikgaochi doesn't work out or is injured we look very exposed in that position.

I agree too. Good point by tommy2 we need some steel to our team and if dikgachoi dosent work out or gets injured we are fucked so we need two good defensive midfielders in the squad so if Gary goes we NEED a replacement.

Coquelin can also play at right back. Wenger has developed him very much the same way as he did with Flamini.

One versatile player like this has the potential for us to allow two to leave.

Gunnar won the championship and was one of our better players in the 2nd half of the season, Ole has clear faith in him.

He is a good player and i do agree that we need one more defensive midfielder to replace Gary Medel, when he is sold. But, i would prefer for us to try and sign Adam Clayton from Huddersfield. If we had Clayton and Dikagcoi together as our DM's like Palace did when they played Dikagcoi and Jedinak last season, the rest of the midfield could all push on and with Daehli, Mutch, Whittingham, Burgstaller, Noone or whoever are attacking midfielders are, all supplying Guerra & Macheda/ Le Fondre, then we would score loads of goals, not concede many & win the league. Especially if we sign Fonte and make him our captain.
